I'm guessing this light gets ridiculously hot at 1600 lumens after 1 minute or two like the other lights of this type? Anyone has this light can weigh in their opinion?

HouseOn my "normal" S41's with high amperage cells and the springs bypassed they get very hot indeed (in both 18350 & 18650 config.). They do step down from turbo pretty fast, though it's a timed step down (~30s iirc) not thermally controlled.
In it's un-modded guise with lesser cells it doesn't get quite as hot but many might find it rather uncomfortable, especially if turbo is reactivated often.
It really is an incredible little light though, fantastic output, great price and the Nichia's tint is, imho, just perfect.
