Mine arrived today - I tip my hat to Massdrop's lightning quick shipping once things arrive! Given the various other things said, I had my expectations pretty average. Color me pleasantly surprised. They do leak compared to the stock ATH-M50x pads, but this isn't my first time with flipping between leather and velour. (I actually have quite a collection these days - Bose QC15, Samson SR850 modded, Kensington CloudX, Steelseries 9H - all with both leather and fabric pads.) In terms of construction, I would definitely rate these as excellent - on par with Headphone Mate QC15 replacement pads, easily. Installation is ... well it's just not fun. It really isn't. I blame the QC15's for spoiling me. I didn't notice a significant amount of leakage as far as sound getting in, which is what matters most to me. The padding is thicker than stock. But man, these are so much more comfortable. The 50x's pinch me pretty badly with stock, and these really seem to help with that a lot. And they definitely help tremendously with the heat for longer periods of wear. A very slight reduction in bass, easily EQ'd - definitely nowhere near the jump between Bose and HM pads on the QC15's. Of course, cans are highly subjective. But if you're looking for an alternative to the OEM leather that costs a little less (AT charges $30USD + S&H,) I wouldn't hesitate to recommend giving these a shot when they're available again.
