To be fair, this is still a good deal if you live in a location where the authorized distributors/retailers price it at a higher price. Do be aware of import duties, etc.

yzhengyuhow exactly do the customs people charge you tho? call you and ask you to pay through credit card online before they let it through the harbor? like they actually find your name and shit on the package or how do they go about it?

lyrillIn AU you get a call by your postage carrier taking the parcel for payment methods before they'll release it.
Some might deliver it to your local post office and they'll charge you there for import fees before you can get it.

lyrillIn Singapore, the primary import duty one has to pay for most imported purchases will be the Goods and Services Tax (GST) which is similar to VAT. It is currently at 7% and if the package is less than SGD400, there is no charge.
If it is above SGD400, from my experience, the agent will pay it for you and you are either expected to pay the charge on delivery or pay it later.

lyrillPart of the shipping documents is the invoice and the declaration of goods inside. Hence they look up which customs ID it is and which tax applies, then charge you when you pick it up or when it's delivered.
