Hello, I just joined, primarily for the audiophile products. Looking at purchasing the NHT C3 speakers for our new living room. Space is about 15 feet wide by 33 long and they will fire long ways. Space is just for general listening, music room with all equipment is downstairs, so hoping they will fill it with sound nicely. Cheers.

for the price, https://www.jbhifi.com.au/headphones-dj/headphones/sony/sony-1000xm2-wireless-noise-cancelling-over-ear-headphones-black/509843/ $269aud($206usd) at jb-hifi now. http://oi66.tinypic.com/11ruoa0.jpg from Costco Australia, $280aud thats around $217usd, yes of coz u need to join the $6 a month membership. $287aud ($225usd) + Postage from http://i63.tinypic.com/308cmch.png $312 aud ($241usd) from Harvey Norman, and more... you could say its from Australia not US, but if Costco Australia selling it for $280aud, i dont think Costco US will go much higher.
This comment is very funny because this is exactly correct. These headphones are designed for very aggressive noise cancellation - and noise cancellation is not magic. There is a tradeoff with how much external noise can be reduced and how that impacts the sound.
There is a large market for this kind of aggressive NC and this is primarily what those headphones are targeted for.
Honestly though your expectations are not invalid, I think AT made a mistake marketing these as NC phones.
The main takeaway here is that the phones you mentioned are purpose built for the airplane or train scenario and comparing them to the MSR7NC is not to your benefit.
Again, perhaps this is just a product with an extremely niche market. Not to knock Audio Technica but personally without being able to hear them side by side I would stick to the regular MSR7. I think any set of closed cans should do well enough to isolate from some office noise. If these are identical to the regular MSR7 with the NC disabled then perhaps it is a slight value-add.
Shopping for audio gear without being able to audition them is tough.
Somthing built with the ability to suited airplane or train use doesn't mean it is the main purpose, and certainly doesn't mean MSR7NC is better in anyways.
This is not about the product or market, its when someone said he would rather buy something else, how they gonna reply as a representative. After i said that what he replied me is "bluetooth" "altitude" this kind of bs instead of how good their driver is compare to those 2. Don't get me wrong i got no problem with AT, just don't like the way he talks and treat me like a fool.
