Why doesn't Antlion just make the Modmic's version that plugs directly to 3.5mm port that many headphones (including MSR7) with swapable cables have? In the same way as V-Moda BoomPro or Beyerdynamic Custome Headset Gear do. Isn't it way more ergonomic and easy to use?

kaellarBecause not all 3.5mm ports are the same.
The only way it would work is if you have a Y 3.5mm cable with one going to the microphone and one going to the audio output AS WELL as special cabling so that the microphone wiring is direct to the computer since the headphone 3.5mm port is only made for audio, not audio and recording.

HualicopterCaptain Obvious, is that you? I guess you didn't even bother yourself to check the microphones I mentioned?

I meant the 3.5mm jack for headphone cable end, not for the PC cable end. Lots of popular headphones have changeable cable with standard 3.5mm 3-pin TRS female port on them - MSR7, Fidelios, Custom One Pro, Momentums, you name it. PC cable end of course is two separate 3.5mm jacks for input and output, as default.

kaellarPart of the appeal of the Modmic is that it works with everything. Boompro and the like only work on a small subset of headphones.
