JustANobodyusually over 50ohms then u need an amp to drive it, with IEM , very odd to have high ohms like this one.
JustANobodyOhms is the units for electrical resistance. High ohms = more power needed to make the headphone sound good / reach its full potential.

erickongI’m planning on getting these and the sennhaise HD 6XX. Do you have recommendations for starter amps? I Also own a pair of audio technica x50s and a few TFZ 5 and kings iem. I never really understood the concept of amps and dont want to go in blindly.

JustANobodyThe easy two to pick from(assuming desktop use or at most semi portable somewhere with an outlet) are the Objective2 amp or Schiit Magni 3. The Magni 3 is the same as the Magni 2 Uber which I'm running my new HD6xx's off of, and I don't even run it at 50% on the volume knob...it's probably at about 10 o'clock.
Edit: I also would say 50 ohms doesn't necessarily mean it absolutely requires an amp(depending on just how good the sources built in amp is), but it's getting to the point where an audible difference may be heard. Need to remember though, efficiency aka sensitivity of the headphones is calculated in as well. The video below should help explain things without getting too overly technical. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDbh7yDVFL8
JustANobodyLike MooTaters said. People love the O2 and Magni for the price. I personally don't own a dac or amp yet. But people say great things about the Schiit Modi and Mangi

JustANobodyxDuoo xd-05 is great, very good value. Also can do some simple easy upgrades as you desire.

erickongMinor nitpick, but important if you're interested in headphone terminology: ohms here are used to measure impedance, which is basically the AC equivalent to DC's resistance. Because they're both effectively the same, the same unit is used to measure both, but if you ever hear people talking about "high impedance" or "low impedance" this is what they're talking about.

ttran946Can confirm. I have used mine for almost 2 years and it is a beast
projectssjThey really aren't that tough to drive. Their sensitivity (105 dB) is enough to let them work fine ampless. I run mine most often with my Shanling M1 or LG G5, no amp.
