I received mine but there seems to be channel imbalance. The left channel is louder than the right channel. Does anyone have this same issue, and is there a way to fix it? Thanks.

bchiangThere have been some reports that the included 6.3mm to 3.5mm plug adapter is garbage and could cause this issue. Try a different one if it's available.<br />It also could be the tube, you might try a different tube if available.<br />You might want to simply RMA the unit though.

bchiangI'm having the same problem, but my right channel is much louder than the left. I unplugged and reconnected everything a few times and it seemed to fix the problem for a little bit, but then the left channel dropped out again. I'm pretty disappointed because it sounds great when it works and I just want to use it...Waiting to hear back from support as to how to proceed.

sbj4I'm seeing this issue more and more.<br />At low volumes it's possible for the volume control to cause a channel imbalance.<br />Try setting gain to +10 if it's at +0 right now.<br /><br />Also try setting your computer/audio application volume to 100% and then adjusting your headphone volume using the T1. I suppose you could also try doing the exact opposite.

I had suspected that was what you were experiencing.<br />You have to switch what audio output device your operating system is using.<br />In Windows 7 you right click on the volume control icon in the system tray and select "Playback devices". Once there you can right click on the T1 and set it as the default audio output.

AdamaThanks for the advice, the gain adjustment definitely brought up the left channel enough so that I could hear it but the right channel is still a couple times louder than the left requiring me to set the balance midway between far left and center. It's also a consistent imbalance throughout the entire volume range, I'm familiar with the low volume imbalance though, I have an Echo Audiofire4 with that issue.

AdamaDang that's crazy you got a tube that was never made lol. I hope you didn't get a re-branded one. Where did you get your tubes from? I'm real skeptical of everyone these days trying to scam someone.

Nguyen@Nguyen<br /><br />Well, relabeled tubes are not really a huge issue as long as you know what you're actually looking at.<br />Like I said, there were a ton of companies large and small that would buy up tubes from the main manufacturers and relabel them. Back in that day, there were a lot of other really odd and shady things that tube re-branders would do.<br />In my case, the seller may have assumed that the tube was made in the UK simply because it was a G.E. tube (one would assume USA construction) but was labeled "GT BRITAIN". It could have been made there, it could have been made in the USA but intended for sale in the UK and was therefore labeled GT BRITAIN. The seller may not have all the information.<br />I recently inquired about a lot of 20 tubes from a common re-brander named "Zaerix". The seller did not know where they were made or by what company so I did a bit of researching and comparison with other tube brands and I still couldn't figure out where they were made. My best guess was East Europe, possibly Hungary. It's a crazy game.<br /><br />I just use eBay. You can use sites like upscaleaudio who are reputable and have high quality goods at reasonable prices. If you buy from them, get the "driver" grade. Getting their higher grade tubes does nothing in this application.<br />If you buy from eBay, don't buy anything from China/Taiwan. The tubes from there (usually labeled as Amperex) are counterfeit. It's possible that someone there is selling legit tubes but I've read enough that I'm staying away from those sellers.

AdamaI was finally able to try out a couple different tubes and the problem (channel imbalance and a substantial hum) persists. The problem must be with the DAC part of the T1 because when I use the line-in and bypass the DAC it sounds totally fine.

sbj4@sbj4 <br />Awww maaaan!!<br />Well it looks like you need to RMA it. I'd start by contacting Massdrop to see what their policy is on these things right now. Shipping back to China could be expensive. I wonder if they'd at least split the cost with you.

Should I exchange the PC38X for better headphones?
I bought the PC38X headphones FOR GAMING and they are great, but I have NO use for a Microphone since I don't do competitive gaming and I was wondering if there were better headphone options at a similar price without a headphone, where (presumably) more of the cost was put into making it sound better. I also find that my PC38X don't get quite as loud as I would like and I was wondering if a cheap amp like the iFi Go link would draw a little more volume out of my phones. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BN6MM822?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details I went with the PC38X since it was considered the best bang for buck headphones. Looking for a gaming/content audio setup
Hello! I'm looking for recommendations on audio setups. I'd be planning on using it mostly for gaming. Preferably I'd like a pair of large closed back headphones since I have a big head and jaw. I'd also like to hear myself through my mic with mic monitoring. As far as budget goes, I don't really have one. But under 600$ would be nice. I can go higher if needed. The audio setup would be connected to a high performance PC. Thank you in advance for any recommendations!

Hello, I just joined, primarily for the audiophile products. Looking at purchasing the NHT C3 speakers for our new living room. Space is about 15 feet wide by 33 long and they will fire long ways. Space is just for general listening, music room with all equipment is downstairs, so hoping they will fill it with sound nicely. Cheers.
