Can anybody recommend any tubes to replace the 6922EH? I hear it doesn't pair well with the DT 990 Pros (250 ohms).
I want something to bringing the mids forward, taking the edge off the treble, increase sound stage, etc., but I don't want to spend more than $40.

SyndicatePhillips JAN 6922 (green label, halo getter) sounds great and can be found around $15-30 for NOS tube. GE 6DJ8 (grey "smoked") NOS is also an improvement from the EH for $10-15 per NOS tube... Amperex 7308's also sound great but cost a bit more... NOS you will probably find $25+ per tube. If you search "Aune T1 Discussion Thread" there are tons of recommendations on headfi. I personally have rolled all those tubes and would recommend the Phillips for the DT's... they have a V shaped frequency curve so you definitely don't want to go with Seimens or Mullards (the extended highs will absolutely kill your ears). I have Sennheiser 650s and they work nicely (more laid back, less resolved highs on the Senns)
(Sorry didn't see you already posted on HF... the Orange Globes are great)
