About the power source: is the 110v vs 220v just an issue of the transformer or do you get a totally different version of the DAC/Amp that only takes that input? I ask because I'm in the US but might be travelling to a country that uses 220v for an extended period of time, and would like to be able to use the t1 there as well. Anyone have experience with this?<br /><br />(Sorry for asking this again. I just thought that the previous answers were not clear enough)

stjj89Yeah, the units are identical, both taking 15v. Difference lies purely in the transformers so you can swap 'm. I couldn't easily find a place to order the original power supply, though i'm wondering if you couldn't just get a power supply that would work: 220-240V 50/60hz (standard euro power) to 15V, 1A.<br />Source:<br />

stjj89yeah, but the 5 (correction, 6) pin plug should be easy enough to source, but it's a split power supply, and I wasn't able to easily find a premade one, just a lot of schematics. Whether or not you actually need a split power supply, I don't know enough to judge... And a true audiophile might complain that a five dollar psu will totally harm the sound.<br /><br />If you find a good place to buy them, be sure to let us know!

StefanHrmm. It's possible that Aune is making these themselves but more likely that their sourcing them from another company. The fun part is finding that company.<br />Because the connector has six pins (and also because I don't have mine yet) I cannot tell what the voltages on each pin are. That part is pretty crucial to not destroying the amp. That's the part of the amp that's split. I would assume that Aune wouldn't include different voltage rails in the power supply unless they needed to. It would simply be an extra cost otherwise.<br /><br />It's a linear power supply which is better for the audio section of the amp. If you care to look it up, linear vs switching power supplies is well documented. Essentially the switching of the incoming electricity can cause the entire unit to be more "noisy". With extremely poorly made switching power supplies you can hear the "hum" being introduced into the audio because everything in the audio circuit is operating off of a rapidly switching power source that isn't being filtered well enough.<br /><br />Any how, I wouldn't operate the T1 off of a switching psu simply from principle. It's not what the T1 was designed to use and you'd definitely void any warranty.
