Dexquisite1?????? The jbl lsr 305 are powered speakers, they have a built in amp. You don't need a headphone amp for them.
Now you can use the dac on the x1s and use the audio out to another amp or speakers. Yes the dac should* work.

Z0d1AcI know thay they have a built in amp; however I was wondering if this would help to reduce interfence from other electrical equipment and give better sound quality. Also I could use a headphone amp. But if this is over and beyond what I need then pehaps all I should get is the x1s dac? Sorry I am new to this. I really would like to benefit from the balanced audio connections on the LSR 305s. People have been saying to get the Scarlett 2i2 but I can see that the Scarlett 2i2 is $299 CAD on amazon. If I get this Aune wouldn’t this be cheaper and a better deal? Sorry for my lack of info...still learning! Thanks in advance.

Dexquisite1Neither of the products in this drop will "help to reduce interfence from other electrical equipment and give better sound quality" with your powered speakers. If you need a headphone amp or DAC then the X1S could be of use, but it won't do a damn thing to improve the sound quality of your speakers.
The balanced inputs on your speakers are for use with balanced xlr cables, you'd need a source with balanced xlr outputs to make use of them. The 'balanced' output on the X7S is for use with headphones only, it's not in any way compatible with your speaker's balanced xlr inputs.
Would you even benefit from a balanced connection to the speakers? Are you getting detectable noise over the current connection?

Dexquisite1It would work but the volume is fixed on the line outs. The JBL's need a volume control, unless you don't mind getting up and setting the levels on each speaker whenever you want to make a change. Adding a Schitt SYS would give you the volume control. I still have this in my closet and I think it is a fine dac/amp. I replaced with a Mimby,Crack,Ember, CTH(comng soon) and Magni 3. The Crack will stay. the others are waiting for my final comparison.

Dexquisite1The TEAC UD-H01 has balanced outputs with volume control. Discontinued, you can find one used somewhere (like the one in my closet) It has middling headphone output. http://www.teac.com/product/ud-h01/
