Help! guys...
I'm a noob at this field, and I've been using the one that others recommended. Currently I'm using Beyerdynamics DT990 Premium 600ohm, with um..... Schiit's Modi & Magni. My Modi&Magni passed away a long ago, and thesedays I'm finally concerning to buy a new DAC& Amp.
One of my friends recommended me [Aune X1S] and I found this drop. and here is another thing in it. X7s
So here are my questions
1. Can anybody compare Modi&Magni VS X1s?
2. Is X1S good with DT990 premium 600ohm?
3. So X7s is just an AMP right? How is it different than X1s?
4. Is there any other recommendation in 200~300 dollar price DAC+AMP?
Thanks,..

JaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayThe x7s has more power single ended and a lot more power balanced (also includes dip switches) to the x1s. It's a higher quality amp than the x1s and is class A, so it should sound better. If using balanced you may get cleaner audio and better dynamics/soundstage/separation.ect
I don't have a x7s to say for certain, but most people say the improvement is little to none single ended vs single ended, but the true improvement is when using the balanced connection on the x7s.
Your DT990 600 ohm cannot be run balanced because there is suppose to be two connections, one on each side of the headphone and it has to be a detachable cable.
If you had something like 6xx you can buy a balanced xlr sennheiser cable, which is not cheap ($30-$60). There is other headphones that can be balanced like the m1060c or hifiman he-4xx.ect

JaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayThis unit is too bright for those headphones. Consider the Teac unit here or a tube amp/DAC combo from Schitt.

JaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayToo bright. Too much treble. I have the DT1990's and that headphone / DAC is way too strong on the top end. You most likely won't like it.
The Teac is here. Look up Teac Look at the Schiit Jotunheim with the integrated DAC for those headphones which are a perfect match.

audioinmyearsThanks man. Just one more question.
Are there any reason why u recommended me Jotunheim? Not stacks? Or something with tube like vali?

JaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayThe stacks are certainly a good choice but I have found they have a bit too hard a time driving the BD headphones when there's high dynamic range playing. As an example, track 2 or 6 on the Interstellar sound track where there's quite a bit of low bass and mids, the amp can clip or garble the mids. The Teac and the Jotunheim have enough juice to give you what you'd expect from such good headphones. Also, at $599 with the multibit DAC the Jotunheim seems to me to be the best fit but just my two cents.

JaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayAs far as tubes go, they would be a great choice but be sure to get a real tube amp with a tube on the pre-amp side as well. Certainly the Vali is a great choice.
