I've searched for any clarification on the effect of the output impedance (10 ohms) Rule of 8 would question the performance of headphones under 80 ohms. This was looking like an amazing deal.
beasTo avoid the impedance issue with the X1S' 10-ohm headphone jack, you can instead use its Line Out jacks. When connecting to the Line In, Coax In, or Optical In, use a male RCA to female 3.5mm adapter and a headphone cable (or splitter) with an in-line volume control (slider/knob). Compared to using the headphone jack, this method produces clearer sound and tighter bass with low impedance headphones. Depending the situation (and the headphones being used) you may need to utilize an extension audio cable or stereo coupler.
Also... When using the X1S with a Windows computer, set the "Default Format" to the highest resolution allowed. Also select "Disable all enhancements". Volume can be adjusted in Windows, and EQ adjustments can be set within your music playback program of choice.
