AVI-8 creates aviation-inspired watches with homages to planes of the past. This one is dedicated to the Hawker Hurricane, a British single-seater fighter aircraft from the 1930s Read More
Just got the watch, looks great. I'll post a short review after I've worn it for awhile. The one immediate thing that is going to drive me nuts is the watch on the band. Once it is on the configuration of the latch makes it difficult to tighten or remove. Maybe the leather needs to "break-in". We'll see... if not, it's an easy fix... new watchband.
JCabranesGot the new watch band. The leather broke in and the band became easier to tighten and remove. The problem was that the band would not tighten sufficiently to stop it migrating up and down the wrist. Highly recommend the watch. Band may work for you if you have a thicker or thinner wrist.
So what is the movement? I know it's a quartz and I know I can go research it myself but imo this is information that needs to be provided by Massdrop.
These watches are affordable and reasonable quality but I'm an RAF veteran and it p....... me of how this company associate themselves so much with RAF planes and heritage though they have absolutely no connection.
I don't know how it goes in Canada but in UK every poppy worn represents a donation to the Royal British Legion military charity ( I wear mine in honour of all but especially those who didn't get home or were badly injured in mind or body) and that was my original point. Even a small donation to any military charities including those who look after veterans from what were the Axis powers would have gone along way to making this OK with me. It's just I point of view. I'm not looking to argue and I respect the view you expressed. :-)
tony.hillFair point you make. I suppose it would be cool if they could donate a portion to the local veterans for the area they ship to, that would a selling point for sure and quite a classy way to remember those who served.
