Conflict oriented and competitive, Axis & Allies: WWI 1914 offers plenty of strategy and long-form gameplay for serious gamers and historians alike. This classic war game puts players in charge of one of the major powers, each with its own infantry, artillery, tanks, aircraft, and naval lineup. Progress is measured in yards, not miles, as the Central Powers of Germany, the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and the Ottoman Empire face off against the great alliance of France, the British Empire, the Russian Empire, Italy, and the United States. This game board extends from Washington, DC to Bombay, and features 22 new unit sculpts, plus enfranchised WWI units like biplanes.

There are no massive sweeps across continents with blitzing armored divisions and aircraft. Instead, there are a series of determined offensives resisted by equally determined armies dedicated to holding the line.
