The Ball Fireman Storm Chaser Pro is intended to help you chase tornadoes. You heard that right. Now, while most who wear it wouldn’t think of doing such a thing, the watch packs quite a bit of functionality and charm to earn it a place on the wrist of any sportsman. The dial on this beauty is laid out with subdials at 12 and 6 that are attached to the chronograph; a free-floating, crosshair-style subdial at 9 to track running seconds; plus a day-date window at 3. The chronograph is controlled with the color-coded pushers at 2 and 4 o’clock. Where the stainless steel case meets the sapphire crystal, there’s a telemeter scale, which, in theory, can be used to calculate the distance of lightning strikes. And for visibility in the heart of the storm, the watch is fitted with Ball’s tritium tube lume system throughout the hands and markers.
