B&O are like Beats - they look good, but they are very overpriced for what you actually get. Their signature sound isn't very good. You pay for the look and the design, not for the sound.

I think it's not fair to say their sound isn't good. I have listened to them yesterday in shop and the sound is good, but it's altered and not pure or flat response compared to Sennheiser. The bass is boosted with lower mids and clear highs. They have pleasant sound and are still way better than beats.

JockyYou replied to just confirm what the comment above said :) but with more self-contradiction. Beats suck exactly because they boost the bass. You confirm those also boost the bass, but then for some unknown reason concludes they are better then the beats, while confirming to being the same thing o.O

gcb00To be fair there are tons of headphones, with elevated bass, forward midrange, elevated or darkened treble... Some 20 dollars some 1500. You cannot honestly say something sounds bad because it has elevated bass or treble. You can say it is not neutral(which a ton of headphones have their own sonic signature that they stick with and are known for) And that you prefer an accurate and neutral presentation in a headphone which is fine, I usually prefer this myself. To each his own, there are headphones that still sound damn good even though they are not flat, beats are not one of them especially with the inflated price for the status of owning them. So saying they are way better sounding than beats even though they both have elevated bass is not contradiction, but rather means the quality of the bass could be better, or better dynamics and detail, or more of natural tone, there are plenty of things they could do better than beats but to say it is a contradiction because they both have elevated bass seems a bit of stretch, but I have been wrong before so who knows. lol

WhiskeyJacksSo true; in fact, this could be a direct quote from a recent headphone review in The Absolute Sound.

WhiskeyJacksIn a word, yes. I used to subscribe and just started again. They review a lot of gear and music, including some very expensive gear, but also including gear sold on and built for Massdrop. Some reviews I take with a grain of salt (cables, mainly), but that happens everywhere, and it could just be my hangups. The writing is excellent and they make their own measurements.
