I lose confidne in massdrop when the price is higher here than Amazon and Newegg.
I have this monitor and really enjoy gaming on it.
Keep in mind that it's a VA screen, vs the other common IPS or TN types. VA has really good black levels and contrast, but has slower refresh than TN or IPS. You will get blurring, even at 144Hz. On the other hand, due to the way the pixels are arranged, 2560x1080 looks sharper than an IPS screen and doesn't color-shift like a TN does. As big as this monitor is, I really don't mind the low-ish resolution at all. Makes it so I can actually get a solid 144Hz in most games. Also, thanks to the large curve, the VA glow in the corners is greatly reduced.
My favorite feature on this monitor is the black-level adjustment. It does a really good job of increasing details in dark scenes without washing everything out or making blacks look grey. (like most IPS screens do)
Worst feature of this monitor is that if you want to attach it to a VESA mount, you have to buy their special BenQ adapter plate ($37), which came out to $42.51 with shipping direct from BenQ (only place to get it).
I should note though... I got my monitor at Newegg for $599 on sale, no tax, cheap shipping. If you're patient, it sells at that price on occasion there. Otherwise, the deal here is the best I've seen for this monitor, plus Massdrop takes care of their customers better.

Can you elaborate more on the resolution? The DPI of this monitor is quite low (like 80ish dpi vs a standard 23" 1080p monitor at like 95 dpi), does the high refresh make up for it, or is the resolution quite alright?
Astral_Abyss
The height of this monitor is equal to a 27" 16x9, it's just wider. So, not the highest dots-per-inch. If you think it might bother you, I'd try and check out a 27" 1080p screen in person. Like I mentioned though, VA screens have different pixel arrangement than TN and IPS and, at least for me, the lower pixel density isn't as noticeable.

Hello Everyone, Just wanted everyone to know we have added a second option to this drop. We are now offering a refurbished version for -$100 less at checkout. Both of these monitors are coming directly from BenQ. The new version will have a 3 Year Warranty from BenQ and the refurbished model will have a 1 Year Warranty from BenQ. Cheers.
B.Hutch@AKRacing
Does this Monitor have international warranty from Benq / and does it sent to Australia? Will this monitor support 240V? Many thanks for your help.
NOTE: THIS HAS 12MS RESPONSE TIME! They only display grey-to-grey time here. Many companies do this to make it look better than it really is.
I own a 29" Samsung 2560x1080 monitor, and I don't think I'd want anything larger. At that size, I can almost make out individual pixels from a normal sitting distance - I have to imagine that at 35" they're pretty easy to pick out.

I have the DEll U3415W and at 2560x1080 you get used to it. It's really not that bad as people say. I'm just waiting for a good GPU deal, maybe 1170 to upgrade and use 3440x1440.
How are monitors like this one for workstation use? Engineering / scientific applications and the like.

That's what I suspected, though it's hard to test something like this out. at 34"+ it seems that 3440 horizontal res makes more sense. Thanks

Sometimes it's cheap too. My Dell was on sale as well. Look around :D
Someday we'll get 1440 and 144hz. Not yet, but this will certainly keep you occupied until then.

Do you mean 4k? Because we don't yet have that.
Sorry, meant Ultrawide.
I have one of these and am actually using it to write this message right now. It's been a really great monitor to use, lots of fun of FPSs. While the resolution does kind of suck while using normal applications, once you are in game, the 144hz and ultrawide really make up for it in terms of visual appeal. I'm actually thinking about buying another two right now to max out my desk.
The lower resolution will also allow high frame rates without needing sli gtx1080. This monitor is probably more gamer friendly than it is visually stunning.
I wish I had the space on my desk to fit this beast!

Let me pull it up for you
Sorry, the price raised for some reason. https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Gaming-S2716DG-LED-Lit-Monitor/dp/B0149QBOF0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1480539569&sr=8-1&keywords=dell+144hz+gsync Also, it isn't curved if that was what you were looking for.
I own this monitor. I purchased it from NCIX around Christmas last year. I could not be happier with it. Backlighting is excellent, color management is easy to use, and plenty of inputs.
My biggest complaint is that its not VESA mountable out of the box and requires an adapter only available through BenQ, which seems to be on backorder 90% of the time
If only this monitor had a higher resolution for its size and cost.

1440p ultrawide, however, has more than 40% more pixels, thus requires a lot more bandwidth. Hence why the max is 100hz on the x34.
Rlmendez
True, forgot we were talking ultrawide. My bad,
i'm interest in buy 3 screens but too bad, The drop price is still pretty expensive.
Its a shame this monitor is getting such a bad wrap. Its still a great deal for a good screen. Yes its not the best but its also not the worst. If the postage was not so high for out of country shoppers i would get on board. Ive personally never had any issues with BenQ products in the past and i have a triple setup with their screens at the moment.
I'm going to clean this discussion up as it's become a personal insult contest and serves no use to anyone. Any further bickering that doesn't encourage constructive discussion will be moderated or deleted. Thanks all.

I do too. What's your favorite species?
ITT, a salty nerd who thinks his opinion means so much more than anyone else's. Not everyone has the same taste in monitors as you, I'm not exactly sure why you think what you say carries so much weight. If you don't like the product, cool, feel free to go rant about it somewhere that people may give a damn.

[Moderated] For 882 I can buy an ACER 3440 x 1440 FreeSync IPS 75hz monitor. 100 bucks for for far better quality and more features.

LOL! Oh man this is amazing. I can see the Hippocratic side of you. I'm not the one posting opinions and reviving dead threads. 14440p at 144hz on a 27" monitor will have a better PPI ratio and gives back better color than an overpriced piece of shit monitor. [moderated]
HowAmI
I feel sad for you... being all defensive for no reason. You do realize that Kitty made a clear statement and the fact that she won't even respond to you or care what you think and yet here you are "offended", had to respond back with something that has nothing to do with Kitty anymore. You missed the whole point here. You might have not started this dead thread, but you did bring someones name up in a rude way when that person, Kitty, hasn't said anything against you for 18 weeks. I scrolled up and I can see that Kitty also agrees with you that this monitor doesn't have a good spec compared to other monitors for its price. So what's the point of mentioning to Kitty about " 1440p at 144hz on a 27" monitor will have a better PPI ratio and gives back better color than an overpriced piece of shit monitor. [moderated] "? I believe Kitty hasn't said anything against your view about the monitor for 18 weeks, and neither brought your name or said anything rude about you either? You did technically started for her since you brought a 3rd party into your argument. All she asked was you to leave her alone...
WHY are you so LOST? You're all over the place man!!! I get it, it's the internet and you can be an asshole, but fix your moral principles, please. Relax dude, no one cares and don't respond to me either cause I don't care about your opinions about the monitor either (I'm not gonna even respond to you either after) and I already know you're going to be triggered after reading this and the fact that you must write something back lol.
Take it easy, From, Wise Stranger
So not IPS... No adaptive sync... and 1080 stretched over 35". Sure it's curved... but we are in mid 2016, this isn't gonna cut it. This thing won a vote?
Zyrael
It has to be 2560x1080 to get 144hz refresh rate. Though, TBH, not having G-sync and almost being the same price as the Z35 now is a big turn off.
I assume it is not IPS and in order to get such a big screen they compromised alot I would still preffer the Asus ROG or X34 predator although the screen is smaller, they are IPS and have faster refresh rate, Asus also has Gsync
cobraf
It is a VA panel for the gaming aspect, so it is more responsive than IPS.
cobraf
The Asus ROG and X34 Predator have a lower refresh rate (100hz compared to 144hz) and the same pixel response. This is a VA panel, which has better blacks, as opposed to the IPS of those two.
NOOOOO! A 1080p 35 inch monitor. Y U NO 1440p? Solid deal though massdrop!

I agree, that's why I'm saving the dough to buy the Acer Predator X34.

It's a one trick pony. Not my choice, but it has a niche in the market:
