Any update ?
when can I expect the monitor ? is the stated shipment date valid ?
90$ shipping 0_o
What kind of upgrade will this be from my ASUS VG248QE? What will I gain aside from size?
Knowing diddly-squat about monitors, how does it compare to say a Asus MG279Q 27.0" 144Hz Monitor?
PineappleOranges
4ms refresh time on the Asus vs 1ms on the 2730z, but the Asus has an IPS screen, which has better color and viewing angle. Both have freesync, which is great but only works if you have an AMD card. It'll keep your image from tearing when you go below 144 FPS.
So essentially, if you're buying for speed (like most of us w/ 144hz monitors), this BenQ is faster, but if you're looking for the best picture, and response time isn't as much of a concern, the Asus is probably better. Differences are pretty minor for these two tho, the BenQ does have excellent color for a TN and the Asus will still be wicked fast.
I've got this monitor and playing any sort of fast-paced game is a dream. Overwatch, Battlefield 1, CS:GO, League, Dota, all benefit a lot from the super fast refresh and response time on this monitor.
any recommend triple monitor arms?
I hope this time Benq will have some in stock! last drop was cancel just after it was finish!
i have this screen its awesum, clearly the best of all times, this is my 7 screen.
is this the model that was discontinued by benq ?

The 2720Z is 100$ cheaper. On amazon.com the 2730Z (same as the drop) is 509$.
xl2720z and xl2730z not the same...
why no g-sync monitors
Eyal
I agree all we ever see is LG or BenQ monitors on here! I don't believe LG makes anything but Freesync monitors! I know for sure BenQ and Asus makes some nice G-Sync monitors. Come on Massdrop let's see some green in the choices!!!
just a comment in general but does Massdrop offer g-sync monitors coz all I see is freesync which is not much help if I have an g-sync card
When will a monitor manufacturer make a 24" IPS Freesync 144Hz screen?
nussbuster
Apparently there's no demand for them. I'd like that too, but it seems you have to upgrade to 1440p if you want that combo. There might be some Korean monitors that fit that bill but there's some QC issues there.

Does this come with the BenQ stand???
I use this on my gaming machine. Such a fantastic monitor. I have no complaints. Freesync is awesome. I'll never go back.

i look forward to getting this monitor, hopefully with the discount from here :D
Can you start putting Freesync or GSync in the title of the drop so that I know I can ignore it?
> Freesync *closes tab*
ag3nt
Sucks for you.
THUMPer1
It sucks for everyone. it's terrible that we have to choose between monitors just because of the GPU we use. Nvidia is screwing up the market with G-Sync and not supporting Freesync
still waiting for mine, the delay in shipping, mix up on what was shipped, and the extremely slow reshipping has left me feel like an over all awful experience :/ I guess they all can't go smooth, but I doubt I'll be using Massdrop again after this.
Have you figured out what devices go where yet? My tracking had the monitor to be delivered next day, then all of a sudden it goes back to the sender. With the shipping taking this long I may not buy any more large purchases here, I only saved $20. Where was the Quality control? You would think a monitor box and a projector box would be different shapes, and the confusion would not happen regardless of whose fault.
All of the orders have been shipped and are now on the way to you! Once tracking is available, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking information. Please allow 24-48 hours for this information to update in the courier’s system.

does anyone know how long it will approximately take for the drop to arrive at the door? normally it isnt a problem but im moving in like 3 week and am in a bit of a pinch, i would like to join this drop but if it isnt going to come in time i dont know if I can join.
NaughtyNiven
you will be pushing it but based on the drop ending tomorrow, it is possible to receive one within 3 weeks. Let me confirm with Massdrop on this.
NaughtyNiven
NaughtyNiven, Here is the expected shipping timeline. Drop ends 08/18 with an expected ship date of 09/05. You should receive the product no later than 09/14. While it is possible for you to receive the product before that due to faster shipping and processing times that is the expected time frame. However if you would like I can contact you offline and I think we can make some special arrangements to get you taken care of. Is that ok?
I don't mind so much that it is a TN panel ~ However there are G-Sync panels @ 1440p/144hz for around this price, which for my GTX1080, makes this drop a pass from me. If it was G-sync I'd probably have snagged a couple.
I was about to get excited then I saw that it was a TN panel and not an IPS... :(

I have heard from many of my clients that the XL2730Z looks amazing. They had no clue it was a TN panel. The TN panel has such a taboo on it that nobody wants to give it a chance when it comes to picture quality. The truth is, TN panel technology is still improving. Whether or not it ends up being an IPS world in the future, at least they haven't stopped trying to improve the TN panel.

While I'm hoping for OLED, I must agree. While my RL2755HM doesn't look amazing, it is certainly somewhat close to my XB270HU.
a good TN is better than a decent IPS A decent OLED or CRT is better than either, but Pascal removes analog video output :( ...waiting for OLED monitors to cost less than $5000
I gotta say. I do like the controls on the base. Not that I often go into mine once the monitor is setup. Maybe if I was running a console through it as well?
The last few monitors I've seen on massdrop had AMD Freesync. So obviously the polls have been decided by AMD users... Well next time please let us Nvidia Gsync gamers buy some monitors on the cheap.
