Vanness Pens in Arkansas carries the Benu Essence collection and the price range is $140 to $200 (Bird of Paradise). This is a good deal from Mass Drop. My wife and daughter have a Benu pens (fine nib) and are very happy with their performance.
I find myself very conflicted over this drop. First, the two reviews on MD of the Briolette were not kind, to say the least.

Making matters worse, the colors of the pen when received were different than those of the pictures. The whole point of these pens are their aesthetics, not being able to trust the color representation in the pictures means rolling the dice on a $100+ purchase. Case in point, is the Mint Chocolate green and brown or green and black? How can I be sure?
Equally as frustrating, the entire Essence line seems to be missing from the BENU website.
https://www.benupen.com/online-store Are these MD exclusives? Are they new releases, end of life, or new-old stock? With the exception of the Supreme Collection, most BENU pens are under the $100 mark, what makes these worth more? What makes Mint Chocolate and Bird of Paradise worth a 40% markup from the rest of the line? Without more info from the manufacturer, it's impossible to tell.
I want this pen, I really, really do but it all feels very ... chancey to me. Maybe on a day when I'm feeling luckier.
TomaCzarI think the problem is patterns aren't always the same with BENU pens. They change per turned pen. Another I've heard is that people didn't really know what they're getting cause the pictures weren't accurate. It's a MD issue not BENU.
