DougFLA123Nope, can't say that I do.
I'm on the fence about picking it up, but not for any particular reason, just not sure if the design is really calling me on this one
P. S.
Weird, that tag didn't alert me, but just happened to be on and looking lol
KavikThat is very weird. I did it here so as not to clutter other threads with unrelated topics and information. Very frustrating. You try to do the right thing but....
Maybe because I used @kavik instead of @Kavik ? Seems unlikely.
DougFLA123Nope, don't think it's that.... None of your tags for me are showing as links when I tap them
I dunno, something has been funky here with alerts for the last few days, maybe it's related
Test:
@Kavik@doUgflA123 Edit : my tags both look to our profiles as they should. Strange
KavikSpectacular detent. Fires reliably 99.9% of the time and doesn't unintentionally open even if I swing it around wildly like a jackass.
The action is also the smoothest of my collection. With proper cleaning and lubrication it's drop-shut goodness. The only complaint I have is that it's a flat-head tooling for the pivot. Otherwise it's absolutely amazing, the value vastly exceeds the cost.
MaxwellDemonicIt looks like the pivot, with the flat head screw, is on the wrong side of the knife. It shouldn’t be on the show side, should it? Can you switch the screw head to the pocket clip side?
DougFLA123I haven't opened it in a while, but I do believe it's D shaped through the whole of the pivot so you should be able to swap it. The Starfighter has it opposite show side, this one has it show.
MaxwellDemonicThat's promising to hear, on the detent :)
Yeah, I don't love the look of the flathead in the pivot on my goblins / imp, but I find a nickel fits well with less risk of slipping and scratching than a screwdriver
And, i suppose it's easier in theory to adjust if needed when not home near your torx bits..... But, loctite *shrug*
MaxwellDemonicOooh, this gives me an idea for that boring flat circle.....but I'm not gonna share it till I decide if I'm getting one and doing it myself lol
DougFLA123I think I've decided to pass on this one again, still just not sure I'm feelin' the design of the handle
Anyway, it's a bit of a stretch, but a Tercel is a male hawk, which got me thinking about birds of prey, talons, etc, googling relayed vector images to use on the vinyl cutter, which got me looking at the nice round, simple, Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D logo fitting onto the head of that pivot
Woulda been questionable getting a clean stencil cut that size though lol
KavikYeah, It seems like working on a small space like a pivot would be difficult. I had no idea a Tercel was a male hawk! Next you’re going to tell me that Corolla are the petals of a flower (they are...I looked it up). I like the GiantMouse logo (below), simple circles and straight lines that look like a mouse. I imagine to get this logo on a pivot would require a laser.
I passed on this one too. I did get in on the Bestech BG02 Grampus. It’s not perfect, but it was hard to turn down at $35 plus shipping.
DougFLA123Agreed, that mouse logo is a great bit of design work 🐭👍
Oh, btw, following up on our conversation over on the Dao comments, check my latest post on the Buc, did a little stupid of the moment anodizing on that the other day 😁
