I really want to get in on this, but I can't justify purchasing yet another knife on here until I flip a few of my own.(anyone interested in an original Benchmade 1000 auto Spike?)
Anyone think we could expect to see this knife going for somewhere around the drop price, or see it return to MassDrop sometime in the near future? I don't recall seeing Bestech repeats on here, just one new model after another. I can be convinced to go $120, but $200? That puts you not too far from some super bad ass blades.

Tacotimehttps://www.instagram.com/p/BboR50ilIuE/ According to their Instagram, the carbon fiber version was a limited run of 100 pieces. No mention of whether or not the titanium versions are limited or not. But so far I've only found this listed on 2 other sites, but at much higher price points. And one of those 2 sites lists it as it off stock with an expected restock date of about 9 months from now.
If the 'limited edition' claim is true, and they don't end up doing another run, my guess is this one won't be available again here.
Part of me wishes now the I took the carbon option for that reason, but something about that one doesn't look right to me. Like the pattern looks sort of like an impressionist interpretation of a weave, if that makes sense? Will be interested to hear from the people who bought that one, if it looks like real carbon fiber weave in person?

KavikI have not seen this knife in person, but from the images, the CF looks more like a "shred" or "marbled" type pattern than a weave or a twill, though I can't say for certain. These are absolutely "real" carbon fiber and tend to be a little more expensive as raw materials. I'm not really a CF guy, I can't stand the weave pattern in most applications, especially in a polished finish, but I think some of the alternative CF patterns are downright gorgeous. I was unaware that this was a limited run, and if it is, that's pretty cool. I felt a little guilty buying it at this price, as I feel a knife this small will probably be able to be had at a lower price after its been out for a while, but if this is the only chance to get it... guilt assuaged! I actually saw the CF version of this knife on Bestech's website a while ago and had an instant "I want that" reaction, which I don't get very often with knives. Oddly enough, the CF version was the last to sell out, probably because it was $10 more.

kennedyzeroOn second blush, the CF might be a weave, but it appears to be a matte finish =D and the sculpting distorts the weave, making it look more abstract and random. I'm excited to see it in person!

kennedyzeroInteresting, I wasn't aware alternate patterns was actually a thing with this. Yeah, i dunno man. I go back and forth on it all the time too. Part of me will always love the look, and I do respect its practical uses in the right application...but i also know exactly how kitschy it is when used as an overlay. And see? Even in this very post! I'm intrigued by the idea of the visual appeal of "shredded" or "marbled" patterns in it, but logically i KNOW that makes it even more useless, as it would have no more rigidity or strength than the epoxy binding it! Haha
And with all that said...... i'm kicking myself now for not buying both to decide in person lol

kennedyzeroPolished cf looks like a countertop, but sculpted cf looks and feels amazing.
It's always a shame when a company won't contour their cf.

OmniseedI know, right? I’m pretty sure I found my favorite handle scale material ever recently. I had Cuscadi Customs make a pair of scales for my Manix 2 XL in “CF Micarta,” which I had never heard of before. It’s like G10 on steroids and I love the look of it, I wish more companies used this stuff.

KavikDo it! Nothing sweeter than a fully DIY custom job, like a lingerie model with a PhD... nice to look at and can carry a conversation!
