Recieved the swordfish the other day in black and tan and must say i didnt know if i would like it when i joined the drop but took the chance and glad i did. I actually sold off the war-wolf for being kinda bulky and thick handled. It was one of those where you open the box and immediately know its not for you. The sf however with its 2 tone handle was the attraction for me. longer blade i believe at about 4" but is still only a .5" thick in the handle and seems more proportional and while its not light its reasonable weight for the size. Im really digging the 2 tone! kinda reminds me of a tuxedo althou it not b+w. The fit and finish is good as always w great action and the g10 is pretty nice i think. No gaps or unevenness where the two colors mate up. Even grinds, sharp, attractive, and good pocket clip which some bestechs need the clip removed and bent to add more tension but mine was good to go as is. I like the skelotonizing and chamfered edges on the flipper tab. It was not slathered in oil either out the box. Maybe bestechs has gotten better about that as the last couple bestechs ive bought havent been either which is a good thing. Also inside the knife was not full of that black manufacturing gunk i've seen in the past so I think best tech has stepped up there QC recently regarding these things. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend the swordfish and best tech knives in general. I have knives in my collection from $20-$200 and I feel BT are hands-down the best budget knife values you will find for the money. Couple that with the discounts on md and I think they are very hard to beat.
