Hey everyone. Since the last drop, BTK has updated the brand's name to Bestech and will feature the updated "Bestech" logo. Also, serial numbers may be higher than 200, as this model has been in production for the last year and has been featured on Massdrop multiple times. Thank you to all who joined the drop!

kyleemjThat clears up that. I much prefer the new logo.

I joined. If they don't want to put BTK on the knife that will be great with me. they say it's bind, torture, kill. does seem a bit odd, js.

Hold up... is this a Bestech or a "Best-Tech" knife. Different makers mark, different production markings... it's quite odd.

I'll wait for the updated 2018 "Shogun" version.

Actually, none of that bothers me... but all solid logical deductions on your part. I’m not overly sensitive to blade/handle ratio as some are in the community. It just greatly varies what the knife is supposed to do and what mission and purpose I have for the respective blade. from a functional perspective there are many times where handle length, weight, and balance need to be greater than the blades... as you probably well know and agree on.
Many times we carry for just pure asethetcs and fun, or simply because we like the knife. It’s fun to flip, deploy, carry, it feels right in the hand and doesn’t overwhelm the masses or weigh down or cut the pocket.
On this just specific case and post I was being juvenile and the way the description was worded tickled my pickle. So... the inner fifteen Year-old got the better of me. My fault.
As as an exit note I’d like to say I’m extremely partial to 1701 as a series of numbers and is usually part of many of my passwords around the house on electronics or accts to parental settings.

Absolutely beautiful. Fit and finish are excellent. Weight and size are perfect for my preference. I used to have a strong bias against Chinese made knives, but based on the quality of this design, this is a company that I will definitely purchase from again. Excellent steel. Premium frame materials. Smooth as butter. You could spend much more and do much worse.

AvionThere's no bias to be had against anything made in China in the 21st century.
They manufactured a lot of junk, true, and still do, but they also manufacture a lot of high end premium products for nearly all high-end brands, from electronics to sneakers.

Except Shirogorov didn't make a mini F3. It's a $15 clone...but a pretty nice knife considering.

I'm intrigued by the design, so I'm taking the risk here. It would be awesome if any of the previous purchasers of this knife would give a quick review.

i joined the first drop from this company and would have joined this one too except for one thing. The drop was too close to the last one. No one had any time to eva the first drop, much less collect another paycheck.

NealPThat's great feedback, thank you! It's actually something that we considered, but our opportunity to make these available was limited to a short window; as with most vendors, there's a limited time for which any company is willing to reserve stock that may not be (all) sold. We hope this is the beginning of many more drops to come with Best-tech, as they are a young company with a lot of experience making knives for other brands and a lot of promise. We'll try to space them out a bit next time!

I really like the design but could not join because of little information on the brand and no knife reviews. seemed like a good price too. RE: previous post I like Liong Mah designs a lot as well, hope to see a future Drop. The Mid-tech GSD from him is very nice.

PetryI know this drop is ended and this comment is old but I just recieved the bestech from the first drop and I have to say I am extremely impressed by the quality, the milling extremely good, the action is amazing, it reminds me of the CKF Milk, my only complaint is edge geometry and sharpness out of the box, it's sharp but not impressively sharp

Looks cool.
Reminds me of something from Star Trek, or the Jetsons.
I like it!

K.T.NMaybe it’s intentional... it does carry the 1701 numerics from the registry of the Enterprise. Just sayin’.
