soldierofchrist35Can someone from Massdrop answer this question? I don't understand how this is listed as a "debut" of the 1703 bronze titanium flipper available "exclusively" on Massdrop when it is clearly available on Blade HQ and is $20 less to boot! What makes this a "debut" and an "exclusive"? Blade HQ calls it the "Emperor" but also has the name 1703.

Clay.Martin @soldierofchrist35 What Clay said, but it's at least the 4th drop. that bit about being a debut was from about 2 years ago As for the pricing, BladeHQ did have old stock on this model on clearance. The plain grey is still cheaper, but the bronze is currently $185 One thing to note if looking on BladeHQ, they have specs mixed up on some of the Emporer models, there are 2 different sizes. This one here matches the one without the lanyard hole. The one with the lanyard hole is going to be the smaller model

KavikFunny I ordered the one from Blade HQ that is directly from the link I posted above for $119.99 and yet today when I click that link it is $184.00.

soldierofchrist35Yeah, they had a few old stock models on clearance recently Congrats on getting in on a good deal right at the buzzer 😁👍 That probably means what's there today is the new stock So yours will probably come with the old BTK logo, and might be a first production serialized piece. That's the way it was on the Shogun I bought during that clearance sale I only wish I hadn't bought the Emporer here only a few weeks before that or I would've bought the clearance version of that as well

soldierofchrist35Yeah....welcome to MassDrop 😑 Good for certain deals, good for certain community discussions....not the first place to look for accurate product info sometimes, and rarely do descriptions get updated on re-runs of previous drops 🙄 (more people should bring that kind of stuff up through the customer service contact form, not just in the discussion pages, which aren't always read by staff)

KavikI'm pleasantly surprised. I just got my Emperor in bronze/gold from Blade HQ and I thought it was probably going to be very old stock with the old Bestech Knives logo on the blade and I thought it might be a different (smaller version) or something. But it has the new logo on it, is clearly brand new in great condition, is S35VN, is the larger model without lanyard hole and all for only $119.99! And if you look on Blade HQ now for that same knife it is $184.00.
