I hope this knife does not come with the word 'Predator' printed on the blade.
Are these blind marked like the photos here, or are they hussied up with gruesome nomenclature?
OmniseedI'm so sad it does have predator written in bold and huge on the back side
Honestly I'm disappointed I really wanted a blank blade with just the numbers at least I got #100/130
OmniseedThe word is raised not like it was done by some other method instead of laser etching so maybe it can be taken off with out too much damage to the blade
Spidey12341But the bead blasted grinds and satin flats+tanto grind are lovely, I think I'm going to wait until the blade sees some wear before I try to polish it off.
Otherwise I love this knife, it's not too large, basically perfect for a full-size folder. I love the swooping tanto profile, the more blocky/angular Americanized style doesn't do anything for me.
OmniseedI know you like this knife and so do I but once you see the grind mistakes you can't unsee them the handle is fine but the blade isn't even is a couple places.
OmniseedI just my FF falcon and its so small but feels good in the hands, the lines are perfect and the edge is even on both sides, I did take the clip off because I don't really like clips on smaller knives. It's really crazy how half an inch looks like such a big difference.
OmniseedI ended up trying to scrape the word predator off the blade, I used a softer steel so I don't scratch it and the word didn't come off just to top layer of "paint" did so it's much lighter and I think it looks better this way. I could post a picture when I get home tonight if you would like.
Chipp1It's a knife, it can bring an inherently antisocial element to any context, an element that most of us classy types do not want to contribute to our environment.
Logos like 'PREDATOR' add to the negative social connotations of the item, and add no positive benefit. It would have sounded cool to me at 14 or 15. These days I don't care to direct my money towards products marketed as weapons.
Knives to me are just for my own appreciation and as a cutting tool. and that logo makes me less comfortable showing friends an object I otherwise like very much and appreciate as a piece of craftsmanship.
Do I need to paraphrase my response three more times, or did I communicate effectively enough?
Chipp1Ok so idk why you put the same question 4 times, but the work predator isn't offensive it's the font that is used it just looks too big and bulky and one reason I joined the drop was that the blade had nothing on it in the pictures and that's what I wanted so I hope you now understand.
OmniseedI don't know why but my knife has spotting on it already and i only touched it with my hands the blade touched nothing else and it looks like it has been in salt water for 3 days.
OmniseedI can see your point. However, I'll use you example that it is true we are not 7,8, or even 10., and even if I were I would not gain any additional pleasure in flicking out this knife and proudly displaying the Predator "logo" it does nothing for me. That's exactly my point. You as an adult, it would seem is a bit overly "sensitive" about the whole thing in my opinion. If it bothers you so, send the Damn thing back!
Chipp1Support said they normally don't take returns of knives but will make an acception this time and I got a shipping label to send it back. I'm really disappointed with this one it's a really nice knife I just think my blade steel had some issues hopefully no one else had this problem.
