It appears to me that Massdrop is slowly (in the case of the Toucan, not so slowly) the price they are charging for Bestech knives. They have reached my limit on this one. MSRPs have not increased, only Massdrop prices. Time to look elsewhere.

I ordered the tan with gray DLC blade, looking forward to it’s arrival and will do a full review.

I would love to see a version with a black G10 handle and a black or gray DLC coated blade.

Excellent edc blade, even for harder use.
My only complaint is the action sticks a little. The recurve being as slight as it is, is easy to sharpen with a ceramic rod.

We need a review section added for this knife
Just got mine today, and damn, it immediately ranks up near the top of my list for the Bestech G10 series knives
I'll get into more detail later when I have a chance to tear it down and all that, but it's verrry well made.
Only wish I had gotten the black blade version after seeing it now and realizing the backspacer is black and doesn't match the blasted finish on the flats of the blade

Not loving the useless and Hard to sharpen recurve. IMO It would have looked better and been more useful if it came in a wharncliffe or tanto blade shape but the handle profile scores a 10 with me and for that price I would have bought two.

BassturdAfter getting mine in hand, that recurve is really tiny.
I don't think recurve are useless though, depending on the task. I may even try to accentuate it when I sharpen it eventually (came pretty damn sharp already)
That said though, i don't think it would take more than a few minutes to grind it out by hand either, if that's what you'd rather have.
Just my 2 cents :)

I live in deep fear that my set will NEVER be complete. I am starting to regret that my bank agreed to increased my credit limit recently. And drastically lowered the interest rates on all purchases until the end of the year.----I do like the appearance of this. That is the reason that I took a look. If I were to frame this and hang it on my wall, I might be right in there with you.

I've never had one with this combo of belly and curve. But I figure if I hate it that bad I'll just grind out the recurve

Why is this model priced higher than the other D2 G10 bestechs? Doesn't at all feel like a black friday deal.

bmdubIn general, I think we're seeing bestech prices go up a little. They tried switching to 12c27, assumedly to reduce cost, people said they wanted D2 back, and we're seeing D2 again now, but prices creeping up. Sucks, but I think it's still fair given their quality
That said though, yeah, this particular one isn't anything too special for a "black Friday deal". Can get this with no wait for $1 more on white mountain knives right now with the LTK coupon code.
Haven't looked anywhere else yet
