From what I understand about these headphones, the Massdrop pricing is far more suitable to its capabilities. I'm still kind of annoyed that a headphone trying to sell itself on its customizability costs almost as much as another pair of headphones just to pull it off.

DragonzeanseNot really sure how you can be annoyed by that. Prices for different covers range from 5 to 10 euro including tax. I don't find that much, or am I missing something here?

koolpepCould be because I'm an American, as I don't know the value of a Euro to a European, but $25 is pretty steep just for covers. Take into account that people might want to change the headband and pads. If you just change the plates - assuming you even want to do that - then it's not that expensive. But if you want to do a full overhaul? Pricey.

DragonzeanseOk, I agree a full overhaul comes out quite pricey, they certainly want to make money with the customization, however, most of the covers are $9.99 and go up to $18.99 depending on material and design, the colored ear pads are $24, new cables (straight or coiled) $14.90 to $19.95. I find that in-line with what other headphone companies charge and actually quite reasonable, however a full custom job is expensive - on the flip side - they will be pretty unique then. (all prices from beyerdynamic website for North America)
