I contacted Beyer just to see if they don't hotstamp custom manufaktur cans. If they do, I'm going straight to massdrop to have them sort them out. I don't want 250s, when I am expecting 600s. Hope you guys get resolved and answers too. Keep bumping this!

KTMDPlease keep us posted. I would call your credit card company to find out statue of limitations on charge disputes (usually 60-90 days).

LxJLthrWill do, it might take 1-2 days for a reply. I hope someone on here finds something out though. I wouldn't have been able to tell without going through older dt 880 threads. That post you had with the 600 stamp though was icing on the cake.

KTMDEDIT: Emailed MD with detailed descriptions and pictures earlier today. Received a reply the same day. They are looking into the issue. So far so good :)
This is really unfortunate, but I won't place blame on anyone as I have no idea where the breakdown happened (factory? distributor? vendor?). Sometimes it is what it is. Le sigh. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

LxJLthrApologies everyone for the confusion. We just spoke with the vendor, and they confirmed for us that the units they shipped out are indeed the 600 Ohm versions. Below is their response:
"The ohm they mark on the top of the box is the actual ohm. All of Beyers boxes have that same UPC on the bottom like that usually and they put over a printed sticker depending which ohm it is. I am assuming since these are custom they just did not do it since there is not a registered UPC for this product since it is custom.
Same thing with the cable that usually shows the ohm since the custom models they can make in any ohm they do not put the ohm on the cable so they don’t have to keep all three cables in stock since the hardware is identical for the cable. The only thing different are the drivers in the headphones."

ArthurMArthur,
Thank you very much for the detailed updated. I have never purchased a custom Beyer item before, so I have no basis to agree/disagree without additional research.
However, given the typical markups and wait times of Manufaktur headphone I would have thought Beyer would pay more attention to the build and packaging details (not less) compared with their regular distributed headphones. And if the UPC and box print is the same across the line, why choose 250 Ohm instead of just a blank space for a sticker? Just seems very un-German like LOL
That said, my only real concern is for future resale value (and easy of transaction) on second hand market. As of right now, it would just be my word that is its a 600 Ohm model and not 250 or 32 Ohm...time for some more research...

ArthurMArthur, I am terribly sorry but I am calling the vendor out on his claims. After a quick search I am finding multiple DT800 Manufaktur FS threads with clearly stamped rating. Here are a few eamples...
http://www.head-fi.org/t/785637/beyerdynamic-dt-880-edition-manufaktur-600-ohm http://www.head-fi.org/t/501389/fs-beyerdynamic-dt-880-600-manufaktur
So if the vendor is correct, this means Beyer randomly indicates Ohm rating at their convenience and/or available parts? I am finding this difficult to believe. Again, I am not done with my research, but I currently I am not convinced it is not just vendor trying to escape accountability.
EDIT: This might end up being a double post as my browser crashed when I tried to submit first version of this reply.
