Had to send my Beyerdynamic DT990 Premium Headphones 600 ohm RMA to get fixed. Three weeks after buying them left driver stopped working. The Best headphones I ever owned but still mad over them breaking so fast. Good thing is these are Beyerdynamic DT880 Premium Headphones and not the 990's so it is possible they won't turn out like mine did. They are in the shop right now.

headphonecan1234Unless they're known for that problem, you're probably just the unlucky one who got the likely small percentage of 990's with that problem. I'm sure the same problem could have happened to a few 770 or 880 owners out there. It's not like the sizing piece(with the L and R) cracking problem which reeks of planned obsolescence. Which is around $40 to replace after shipping if you choose not to contact support in at least hopes of a free replacement. Luckily when mine broke, I contacted them and they sent them out for free, even though my 770's are out of warranty which I indirectly told them...though I also told them in the same way that they cracked within the warranty period.
Edit: For comparison I'm one of the less than 1% of Modmic customers who's had the magnet come loose from the mic boom clasp piece. The cool thing is, they sent one out to me free of charge even though my modmic 4.0 is probably around 2 years out of warranty.
