The only thing holding me back right now is the lack of a detachable cable which makes me want to save up for the T70p ....you guys think it's worth it or is the extra $160 Not worth it for the upgrade to the T70p? Like are they worth twice as much (sound, build quality).... they are killing me with this fixed cable on a $200 set of headphones...lol
TheIzzardKingIt's funny, I don't detach my cables much from 'phones that have detachable cables. I sort of feel that doing so very often creates wear and tear at the pins and the sockets, and heaven help you if you snap off the pin inside the socket! I have both versions of the T1s and I don't mess with detaching on the version 2. I detached the cable to insert an upgrade hand-built cable... and might see detaching if I wanted to switch cables for other ones. Like, maybe I don't want a 12 foot cable today, i will go with a 4 footer, or.. whatever. I don't mess about with detachments on IEMs either. and I DID snap off a pin once on a set of pricey Shures. It SUCKED.
...but that's just me. It's likely other persons aren't as fumble fingers as I can be. especially before coffee.

TiffanyPoodleslideYeah, i want to be able to invest in some nice cables and swap them around till i find something im happy with, both sound wise and asrhetics. i also have too many drawers, chairs with wheels, cats and children that seem to love to chew up cords....lol In retrospect i should have just gotten headphones and a nice chain setup instead of the other stuff.... lol, kids included. J/K, love my boy even if he's hell on my electronics and costs $$$$$$....$$$$.
That said i feel more is lost by not having a detachable cable than what is gained by it, i watched a few vids on replacing the cable on these beyers and it looked like more than i wanted to deal with at this stage in my audio hobby, think im going to pick up some broken cans for dirt cheap on fleabay and see how it goes fixing and modding those before i buy a brand new set of cans and rip into them straight away....im sure id be OK, im an ME who plays with robotics alot so pretty decent with a soldering iron and my hands, nothing like an actuall EE though and to be honest some of the skills i see from hobbiest blows me away so i try to be a bit reserved in the assement in what i can actually do and still have it look good.
Point being, i think its alot to ask to replace a cable on a set of $200 cans when you can just buy a $15 cable and plug it right in.
Vid on replacing cable.
TheIzzardKingI hear ya, man. Having only dogs, I can, at least, keep the cables and gear out of reach. But don't drop am iem earpiece or spinfit! One pounce from a mousekiller terrier pup, and it's goodbye Toronto! lol.
I'm all coolio with people having different prefs and needs in gear. sounds like you NEED to be able to swap in cables. some pretty interesting improvements in gear started with builders deciding to change up on how a rig wears, turned into headphones that have a unique sound, that is in some ways better than the previous version.
goodluck with all the electronics munchers! :)
