I don't ever post on these things but I thought I would for this. I personally have this exact pair, 250ohm premiums, and I can say pretty certainly that no matter who you are, unless you're coming from like some $1000 cans, you will be very impressed with these, and you'll be happy you made the purchase even three years down the line. I've found these to be the most comfortable, clear and enjoyable listening experience, out of anything I've owned. And I've had some higher end of the spectrum sennheisers and listened to akgs and all that. Personally I recommend pairing these with a nice dac/amp, (I personally favour the mayflower electronics o-dac and o2 amp combo) but that being said, you'll still get a very nice listening experience straight out of a pc. I've even listened to music straight out of my phone with these, and while it doesn't get terribly loud from a mobile device, it's still very viable in a calm environment. To anyone coming from the m50x and sennheiser 500 series level of the market, whose looking for more in their setup especially, I recommend to try these out. For most of you I don't think you'll ever feel the need to buy another set of cans. Save if you want something for travel.
Overall, just thought I'd vouch for these to anyone on the fence about this purchase, from here or any vendor. I'm confident you will be happy with yourself for making this choice.

Prickly-pearhe-400is sort of destroy these though ;-) and are only 300. But the beyers weigh less and win in comfort for that reason alone.

UzuzuI will say you're not wrong there in regards to value. With their lower impedence, those without an additional or strong amp, will have a better experience in the volume they can produce and with pretty much the same sound quality (though a more pronounced V curve) but with an amp (or prefferably good dac and amp) plus the comfort, I still prefer dt880s for home use. Though that is a very fair option I forgot about. I'd strongly recommend either.

Prickly-pearDT880 is semi open. How would you compare the sound leaking out to a full open can like the he-400 or the Beyer DT990? I like to purchase a can for office use but maybe open design can is not for me since sound leaks out. Wonder if 880 will not be too noisy from the outside. I'll be using it with my m9xx DAC/amp.
CliffCriDepends on what your office is like. If shared, get closed. For your sake and your co workers. If you have your own office. Open is ok. I actually prefer open so I can hear my phone ring.
