The 600 Ohm version has better phase linearity than the 250 ohm. Unfortunately knowing this makes me only want the 600 ohm version. I suppose subjective opinions and technical insights somewhat agree. That said, 600 ohm requires a proper headphone amp. The 250 ohm is a good compromise and has almost the exact same Frequency response. It will likely play well on most quality devices. The DT-880's biggest downfall is too many ohm choices. The 33ohm having a much bigger difference between the 250ohm versus the 250 to 600 ohm. Getting microscopic here. The 250 ohm seems to be the best compromise. The 600 ohm could sound worse with the wrong Amp.

SagaciousI think most will agree that the 250 ohm version is a good middle ground for people with a dedicated amp.
