Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

I would suggest considering the excellent DT770. It is the same driver as the 880 but in a closed back. They are more bass heavy than the 880, but have excellent transient performance for a closed back. They are also very comfortable and isolate well :) They are a little on the wild side of neutral, but I find them to be a deeply satisfying Beyer specimen in this respect.
If you want the ultimate in isolation and are willing to consider in ear, have a look at Etymotic. Their ER3's are a little cheaper than this, feature unrivaled 40 dB+ isolation and have a profile that is neutral and fast to the level of Electrostats. . .
Thanks for the patience on my noobishness
That said, these are detailed enough that they will likely benefit from a dedicated DAC etc, should you want to scale later on.
I happened to pick up Bose QC 25's on Prime Day. Clearly not the most hi-fi but couldn't turn down the price for probably the best wired ANC headphone available.
You wouldn't happen to get on at Ronkonkoma, would you? I see someone get on every morning wearing 770 Pros. Haven't brought myself to bothering him at 6:15 AM yet.
