I need some advice. I've never listened to Beyerdynamic headphones before and there isn't a place within 90 miles of here to do so. So my question is this.... would anyone who knows this brand/model consider paying $100 more for these opposed to the DT990 Pro 250 Ohm model (I found them online for $139 new)? Also, what would be gained by using these instead of the Pro 250 Ohm model (aside from +350 ohms impedance, a different open back style, different ear pads, a straight cable instead of a coiled one, and a carry bag)? Otherwise, the tech specs seem to be the same. Any advice would be most appreciated!

Nams SelemanThe Premium and Pro share the same drivers. There may be a slight perceived differences in bass due to the tighter seal around the ears on the Pro, but only real differences are cosmetic and clamping pressure.
I went with the Premium for comfort and it works for me because I use them strictly for desktop use vs mobile. I imagine one could stretch the band on the Pro model for more comfort though.
I don't have personal experience between 250 vs 600 but from what I've read, the differences are small. I now have the 250ohm drivers in mine (swapped out the old 32ohm drivers) and I love how they sound. I never thought the 32ohm drivers were lacking but I had to replace the old ones so I went ahead and went with 250ohm versions.

dsmegstThank you for the insight, dsmegst! I have nearly a dozen mid- to high-end Sennheiser, Audio Technica, and AKG headphones (both open and closed back) that I constantly swap out depending on what I'm listening to. I definitely want to add Beyerdynamic to my collection because I've read many good reviews about them.
It seems to come down to whether or not the extra $100 is worth the added comfort level, the design of this particular model (which I do like), the slight increase in audio quality from the greater impedance, and the chance this all-black model may never be available again. I'm thinking I'll get both and maybe sell the one that I use the least.
