Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

The bottom of my box does indeed say that this is the 250 ohm version, even though all the markings elsewhere (a marker on a checkbox) indicate that it is the 600 ohm version. My phone is able to make these louder than I'm comfortable wearing, and my Magni 2 is also not set to much higher than I need to hit the same volume for my HD650s. I understand that neither of these are the appropriate options to power these headphones (if they were actually 600 ohm) but I decided to jump on this deal and purchase a proper amp in the future (probably a Crack).
Additionally, the product is not as shown in the massdrop images. The headphones are black and rubbery, instead of silver and metallic looking. The velour pads are also black instead of silver. The silver ring around each side is a teal-colored plastic.
As for sound, the headphones sound very bloated when powered by the Magni 2 (I bought this as a replacement for my DT770-32, so I have an idea of how much bass to expect). It also seems to be missing that signature Beyer treble. This may be due to improper amping (I of course wasn't expecting my current setup to be perfect on these cans, but certainly not perform this poorly either). Hate to say it but it almost makes me worry that mine are fakes.
