I bought these about 9 months ago and have to say I'm quite pleased with them overall. I'm not able to describe the ins and outs of the bass/mids/treble etc but suffice to say I haven't found any issue with that side of things. I can wear mine for hours on end comfortably The few complains I have are: * They don't get very loud on my Nexus 5 using Spotify. Using Soundcloud/Play Music they're fine though. * If you're generating static electricity (e.g. wearing a sweater) then I've found that the earbuds can discharge that static into your ear via the metal rings on the outside of the housing. It's not really painful but it is annoying and a distraction from the music. * The extension cable is pretty much required to use these unless you plug them into something in an unusually high chest pocket * The thing I dislike most about these headphones is how fragile the extension cable is, after 9 months I'm on my third cable, the previous two having lost an audio channel within 3-4 months. Beyerdynamic have sent me free ones each time no questions asked though so kudos on the support there. However even with a fully functional one, I can never get over handling it gingerly as though it could break at any moment because to be honest it probably could. I'm somewhat surprised that the cables going into the ear buds themselves haven't broken given they feel just as fragile.
Some more specific good points: * Includes a set of ComplyFoam eartips. These really do make a difference to the comfort and listening experience compared to the standard rubbery eartips. I suggest definitely trying them and then picking up some from ComplyFoam if you like them. * Very lightweight * Very supple cables, they have very little "memory" to them and they are very easy to untangle * They can be worn over-ear although the thickness of the flat cable might get in your way, especially if you wear glasses * Includes cable clips * Cable is just about long enough without too much excess length (for an average 5'8-6'0 man) * Includes case. I don't use mine often but it's nice to have when you need it
Overally I'd say they're worth getting, but be aware of their limitations before jumping in.
