Good deal, but I'm waiting for a Sennheiser HD 800 drop, though some would argue the T1 is a better pair of headphones.

JimmyJiaPatience is a virtue .... He can get the very same BD T1 from an authorized seller: focus camera, on ebay, for 669.99 today.... That's about 120$ saving, if you calculate the cost of the shipping in.

nooneGood catch, I picked up my T1's on the last Focus Camera/ebay deal and have not been sorry. I have seen these NY Camera dealers beat Massdrop prices several times....guess their volumes must be so high they get an even better deal than Massdrop.

eeagleMy suspicion is that they're space constrained and need to clear out old stock. I too have gotten great deals from the likes of B&H, Adorama, and Focus Camera.

JimmyJiaOh yeah, I'm completely content with that, and there have been tons of votes for the Sennheiser HD 800's, not sure if there has ever been a drop though, doesn't look like it.
I currently own the HD 650's so I'm holding out for a major upgrade instead of a stepping stone.

nooneYes, I have contacted Beyerdynamic National Sales Manager Pete Carini, and he not only confirmed that Focus Camera is an authorized seller, but also encouraged me to buy one soon. I have bought a nice tripod from Focus Camera before and had no issues, so I jumped on this one today.

nooneYea, I'm no stranger to waiting. I waited 6 months before I bought my T1 for 470 shipped, like new. But the sales for the T1 are common. not so much for the HD800. One can wait, but there is no guarentee that a sale or a "good enough" price will come up.
Regardless, I'm not sure what your comment has to do with the HD800 costing more than the T1. I'm certain enough to say that the HD800 will never drop this low as long as it is the flagship of the sennheiser line.

JimmyJiaOne could say that your previous comment had no sense, obviously he knew about the price difference and was willing to spend the extra cash on the HD800. As for the prices, there's always going to be bigger sale, the question is how long are you willing to wait for it. The 800 were already sold below the magic $1000 mark on a quiet few occasions. Besides, you perhaps wanted to say your mommy waited six months before she bought you the T1s, right?

JimmyJiaYou mean nice complement? Only a teenager would think that saying he looks young is an insult.

JimmyJiaAre you ready to drop a couple grands for Amp/DAC? Unlike T1s, HD800 is very finicky about Amps, far as I know to make it sound good the Amp price starts at $2000, on top of however much HD800 is.

nooneAd hominem fallacies do not improve your arguments, but serve only to make you look like an unwanted member of the community. Why are you being so hostile anyway? I read the thread, and it's not like anyone threw the first punch at you or anything. Like, just chill, man. We're all good buddies here, right?

JunyangOh I'm not the one who was interested in buying the HD800. I'm perfectly happy with the T1s :)
I have heard the problems of finding a good amp for the HD800s, I've heard that Woo Audio's offerings are pretty good matches for the HD800, with the WA7 costing around 1000.

ZALHERAHostile, that's interesting interpretation .... He was pretty much suggesting to the other guy to save a few hundred and buy the T1 here, I on the other hand, I was saying that he could save another 120 by taking his business elswhere. I do realize that kind of behavior is disruptive to the massdrop business model, but we're all here to save some money, not to support their wallets, right buddy......

nooneWell he merely said the HD800 costs a lot more. Then you commented that you can get the T1 for cheaper somewhere, which confused him and he said he didn't see how that related to his HD800 comment. Now your comment to take his business elsewhere is fine on its own, but it was the low blow that I consider hostile.
You proceed to add the unnecessary comment about his "mommy" being the one who bought those cans for him. Yes, I would say that condescending tone was hostile and uncalled for. I personally do not care if people buy T1s from here or eBay or anywhere. As you said, the community was and is about saving money, so discussions generally appreciate info like the one you gave us. But I just don't understand why you were attacking JimmyJia, and I am asking you to stop.
I've said my piece, and I am leaving this discussion. Have a nice day, bud.

ZALHERAYes, he mearly said the 800s are a few hundred more expensive in a reply to a guy who clearly stated that the T1 is a better set of headphones in accordance to some. So his comment would suggest that the logical thing to do, is to buy the headphones that are cheaper and perhaps better. If saying that his mommy bought the headphones for him is an insult, you're more than welcome to insult me by buying anything worth over 700 to me... (in accordance to the massdrop pricing)
