DalamarYou are right, you can get better or equivalent materials for a lesser price, but a knife is not just a sum of it's materials. The craftsmanship and design on this set it apart from most production knives you will get. and $375 is a good deal for anything made by Gerry McGinnis
This is not a production knife, it is a mid-tech and it is viewed very favorably compared to other midtechs. If you don't care for midtechs, or if you don't care it is a midtech then this probably isn't the knife for you.
But at the end of the day, saying that you can get better for less is misleading. I can get a car with a bigger motor for less than a Audi RS4 or a BMW M6, does that make it better? Of course not!
Oh and just for transparency, I did buy this knife on the last drop, and it is in my top 5 knives of last year (I got some pretty good knives so I can't truefully say it is my favorite) .
JubilantBearEither a knife is defective from being improperly heat treated or is not, has a good material or does not. Shape can make the difficulty increase however these are some very plain jane knives, there is no reason for this material to be priced so high.
Plain and simply you're paying for the brand. Or some buzz word like "hand made".
