VextosActually no I didn't. The tracking only went as fair as New York N.Y. Then it just says in transit to it's destination. 😐I have seen this before with other knives I've ordered since Canada Post limited there International Tracking. Usually the knife shows up 7-10 days later. What do you think of yours? Does it have the great action everyone says it does? I've been waiting to talk to someone else involved in this drop. I guess it's quiet because there's only 9-10 of us lol.

T.willyOh damn, are you in Canada? If so, you just might be shit outta luck. This knife definitely lives up to the hype. It has by far the best action of any knife I own, the detent is set so perfect you can't fail it even if you want to. This is my second one, I bought my first on knife_swap and I knew I needed another. For how cool the knife looks, it's definitely a user with that heavy stone wash blade and tall grind. I don't know why people are crying about CPM154, it's a great steel that takes a super keen edge and it's easy to sharpen. Overall it's 100% worth it.

VextosYes I live in Canada and I'm holding out hope I'm through customs and my knife will be here any day now. 😆 I'm rather new to knife collecting so my knowledge of the different steels and there Cutting and sharpening abilities are limited but I've seen some very popular high end knife makers useing CPM154 exclusively and that's enough for me to feel free to buy this knife. Thanks for the response. I'll definitely post whatever my outcome is. Trevor

VextosJust got my Rowdy Today and I couldn't be happier. 😆It's everything that I've heard it was. The action is amazing right out of the box and the Fit & Finish is as good or better then anything I've owned. The thing I'm most excited about though isn't actually the knife itself oddly enough 😲It's the fact I for the first time in weeks feel like I can safely buy knives from the US again. I relize there always a chance of my knife being seized but with Massdrop at least you know your covered. Thanks again MD You got this Canadian knife knut as a customer for life. 😉

VextosI went with the one that has a bunch of little dimples in the scales. The night I placed the order I was rushing because there was only 12 minutes left of the drop and all I new was I wanted a blue handle and a blue back spacer I forgot all about the scale option lol. The only handle I didn't care for was the dubble signature. That was just gaudy looking I thought lol.

T.willyI got the same one. I like it a lot but they should have removed the dimples under the pocket clip because it's a pocket shredder. But other than that's it's great.

VextosYes your right about that. I guess you could take off the clip and smooth it out with a small grinder of some kind. Unfortunately I'm finding mine a little to big for me so I'm going to sell it and use the money to buy a Farrum Forge Septer. There right at 3" witch is a perfect EDC size for me.

DougFLA123It was $179 for The base model but there were 2 different Milled options as well for another $20 plus this one came with a true left handed version.

T.willyReally? I watched a video by Doctor Frunkey, and it looked to be this same knife as this one, and he said it cost $575.

T.willyDoctor Frunkey got back to me and said it’s the same knife that he said was $575. He got it months prior to it dropping here. You got a great deal. I’m sorry I missed it.

DougFLA123Hey Doug I don't know how but I believe you and Dr Frunkey must of got your wires crossed somehow 😨 Gavko does makes a custom Thresher Model and thats probably the video you saw. This model is just being made. Dr Frunkey did do a video about these knives on July 16th he had all three colors and both versions of the milling that's being offered but those were all prototypes.

T.willyHey T.willy....I wasn’t talking about the Gavko knives, I was talking about the Tashi Bharucha Rowdy HiTech. So, when you said you paid $179, you were talking about the Gavko? I was curious about what you paid for the Tashi Bharucha Rowdy HiTech when it dropped around six months ago?

DougFLA123Sorry about that I guess I was the one that had a wire crossed 😨lol.OK I just checked and I paid $363 including shipping to Canada. The only thing though was there were only 9-10 of us that joined that drop. I can't be sure but I think it was because everyone was used to paying $125 for Farrum Forge Falcons or even $79 for the base model Farnum Forge Gent. So when they looked at The Rowdy alot just saw another titanium flipper but for a hole lot more money. I was like you I was pumped to see this knife for sale.I couldn't believe my luck I had been trying to find one used because I new I'd never raise the $500+ it cost from the Dealers. I wasn't disappointed ether it's an excellent knife. I think now that Massdrop is regularly selling higher priced knives it won't seem like such a big deal in the future. Plus if enough people request the knife I think they automatically do a drop? But that's just a guess on my part.

T.willyIt really is a cool looking knife, I’m sorry I missed it. I don’t remember this drop happening but it’s possible I thought it cost too much at that time. Like you said, we were a little spoiled by the $79 to $129 price tag of a lot of the knife drops along the way. Well, 130 people have requested this knife, so I hope they drop it again. Thanks!

T.willyOn the Tashi Bharucha Rowdy HiTech drop, you bought the Dimple Texture, right? This may sound like a silly question, but were the dimples poking out, like bumps, or pushing in like little drill holes. I know you ended up selling yours because it was a little too big but other than that, did you like it?

DougFLA123Oh yes I really liked it and the dimples were concave (dipping inward). The knife was very comfortable in the hand. It's just I have medium /small hands and I'm usually buying knives with blades around 3" to3.25" at the most so this one was a bit big and heavy. I can't remember right off but I don't think there was any milling on the titanium frame. Of course that's all subjective. Someone that's used to Carrington this size knife would be just fine with it I'm sure. I still would of kept it if I could of afforded to leave $360 tied up in a knife I wasn't going to be using very much but I just don't have that kind of cash. Mind you I've ordered the Gavko Thresher with is just about the same size so I guess I'm just a bit crazy eh? lol No I actually think the Thrasher might be a different story. It's got some milling and is listed at a lower weight. I don't have enough experience with knives to know if that small of a weight difference will be noticeable or not. The good thing is if it's not a good fit I'm sure I'll have no problem selling it to someone else. That's one of my favorite parts about the knife world. As long as you buy quality knives and take care of them there's always someone out there willing to pay you if not all most of what you paid. 😎👌

DougFLA123I hope so too but I'd wager to say that it's unlikely anytime soon. This is a midtech, meaning McGinnis would assemble and finish it himself with a greenlight from Tashi. According to social media, Tashi's currently working on new models for USN, and prior to that he was working on stuff for blade show. He seems to be on a new model custom kick so I think it's unlikely he'd work on some midtechs. That combined with the fact this drop wasn't too popular last time gives me serious doubt.

DougFLA123Buuuut on the flipside, the Prism has definitely drummed up interest in Tashi's work hence all the requests for this guy. Whether or not the people who requested this knows about the hefty price tag, we'll have to see. I wish you could see prices on inactive drops.

BknguyenI did ask Tashi on Facebook if he thought his Rowdy HiTech will ever drop on Massdrop again and he said, “I’m not sure”. So, there you go! : ) I think you’re right though, with how busy he is and the lack of participants on the last drop of this knife, it doesn’t seem likely. It does say here that 133 users have requested this knife, but it’s a lot easier to request than it is to pay $355.

DougFLA123Good news folks, I asked McGinnis if they were ever doing another drop and their was response was "probably not" but referred me to Dave Stark @ Steel Addiction because this is apparently "his project". Dave replied and said that they'll be doing another drop in the next couple months or so! Save up those funds!
Side note, I thought this was just a project between McGinnis and Tashi but I guess not? Also I hope there will be all handle options but I doubt it. Either way I'm excited.

BknguyenHey that's great news. I was one of the 10 people that bought The Rowdy on the last drop. I ended up selling it but not because of any disappointment in the quality of the knife at all. I knew going in it was a bit bigger then I usually preferred but I had loved the look of the knife so much plus seeing it for the first time under $500 I figured what the hell Lol. It did turn out to be to large for me but if you're okay with that size I think you will probably love the knife. It's every bit as good as all the reviews say it is.👌

BknguyenActually I didn't get too hurt in the long run. After all the math was done it cost me around $35 and some of my time to get to experience The Rowdy and now I want to get a smaller model made by Gerry Mcginnis probably something from his proline series. Actually it would have to be something from his proline series because I could never afford the price of his customs lol.😲
