Nah. I'd feel better with ZPacks Duplex at 20 oz. Go pitch this Soul in the rain :) Too heavy for me

tau_neutrinoZpacks Duplex is quite nice, no doubt. Half the weight, but costs THREE times as much as this drop. For many of us, that's just not feasible.

tau_neutrinoAnd the >$550 price tag for the ZPacks is probably why you feel the need to humblebrag in a comments section for an entirely different price range of tents.
I bet a Ferrari is nicer than a Toyota Corolla too...

TeliosSure you are right! My post was just a counterpost for these "Woohaa it's so light!". No there are plenty of options out there. I have nothing negative about Big Sky International. And the price is good. However, I do remember those stories of people not getting their gear ordered. Maybe now BSI has the gear in stock so it won't happen to you. For me, the fact of taking the money and not shipping the product AND not returning the money says something about the policy of the company. Just my $0.02. And guys, go read this thoroughly (all pages): http://www.backpackinglight.com/cgi-bin/backpackinglight/forums/thread_display.html?forum_thread_id=7270
You know, when thief goes out of jail it could be he will never steal again. But would you hire him? It's up to you.
Happy trails!

tau_neutrinotau_neutrino... you are correct that Big Sky had supplier problems and was not able to ship products as quickly as we should have back in 2007 (when this BPL forum thread you referenced was written) ...but... EVERYONE EITHER GOT THEIR MONEY BACK OR RECEIVED WHAT THEY ORDERED ... Big Sky did what it could to try to make it right with its customers... for example: a number of Big Sky's customers in the BPL forum that stated long wait times had "loaner" tents they used for FREE while they waited for the tent they ordered (it was disappointing to see they never mentioned this), and in many cases customers received an upgrade to what they ordered...again, it was disappointing to see that this was never mentioned. I am offended that you imply that Big Sky stole from its customers because that is simply not true...
