This is supposed to ship out in 2 days, anyone know how long that delivery is going to take? I leave at the beginning of July for a camping trip and hoping I'll have this to take along with me!
Can someone here explain the utility of these BioLite stoves over smaller wood stoves? What to I get for the extra $130 over the cost of a Solo Stove lite? It looks a bit large/heavy for lightweight backpacking. Are people using these for car camping?
Total weight appears to be ~4.77 lbs for all the items shown, seems heavy for the price.

I would recommend for car camping or maaaaybe a short overnight backpacking trip as the stove is hefty and takes up a large amount of space. The real benefit is the amount of heat that the stove puts out thanks to the fan system, which gives you a bit more control over temperature and burn rate. The USB charging is rather secondary in my mind, and while perhaps a bit gimmicky to some- could be useful in a SHTF situation. The entire kit itself is pretty darn cool however, with the Baselantern being absolutely awesome for the price: fully adjustable lamp and power bank that can be controlled by an app. I use mine as a desk lamp most of the time and throw it in a pack when I need some extra juice out somewhere.

This isn’t the ultra lite community, you are looking at an outdoor/emergency type product which comes with some nice lights and with battery packs built in (stove and light). Heavy, naw just a little heavier than some would prefer but for the price, I could not get AMAZON to be it.
Anyway i can add on the Portable Grill ?

Yup I got this as well, just hopping I could get the grill together with the drop.

I feel ya, yet as was mentioned in older replies, "this" drop is unique to a MassDrop only so no other attachments. Who knows, maybe something else will show up but I wouldn’t wait, if ya like it enough [We] find a way to get it. Lol
Is this the same price as the last drop?

Killer value, agreed! Just waiting for the FirePit now...
TheGriz
Yeah I would have to deeply consider the Basecamp pit or fire pit if it became available.
Damn, missed it again. The emails I get always show the things I don't want and never the things I do.
"All sales final"...so no warranty? I couldn’t find one so I‘m asking. I guess the fan would be my only real concern since it moves the heat to the charging components. Adding in the extra items and I cannot see a better deal ever anywhere else. You’re getting multiple battery chargers, lights, equipment to cook with, I have wanted one of these for the longest time. I’ll probably join the drop w/o a warranty and hope for the best. I may even get a solar panel (in time) for added charging. I can’t believe this deal!

That's what I wanted to hear. Thank you for the reply...it's buying time.

...and it's done, I got this sweet piece of emergency/camping/prepping gear. I couldn't be happier. Thank you Biolite and MDrop!
I've had the original campstove for a little over 2 years now and I've been really impressed with both it and the little grill attachment. Didn't buy it for the phone charging aspect, but I love that I've only had to manually recharge it once over ~40 uses. Biolite seems put a lot of effort into the design of their products

Same here...love my Biolite. Bought the grill year...worked great.
I had a BioLite CampStove once. The fan motor died just after the warranty period. BioLite designed the orange power unit so it can't be repaired so after some unproductive troubleshooting and although it had no visible damage, BioLite's best solution for me was to throw mine out and buy a new one. I was disappointed in the product and the company. I believed in and was excited by the potential of this product but there are simply better wood stoves and better USB chargers.
Dear Massdrop Community, I can see that there may be some confusion as to whether or not this a is great value -- which is completely understandable! Allow me to shed some light on this topic. The bundle offered in this drop is exclusive to Massdrop, so you will not find this assortment of products anywhere else -- including our site. Also Massdrop is basically offering 30% or more off the cumulative MSRP on these items - this may be one of the best offers you'll receive on our products at any given time. I really hope that this helps to ease your concerns about this deal -- as it would be a shame for you to miss out on these awesome savings. Thanks, BioLiter

Any chance for the firepit to be offered here ever?
I'm not sure this is such a great drop as far as price goes, you can get it directly from the source for $199.95 for the exact same bundle....

Ah, ok, that makes a lot more sense. Thanks for the clarification!

Anytime! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
I joined in on this drop purely to have a great earthquake emergency system. Can heat up water with timber and wood, can easily recharge my cell-phone, have back-up lighting. We keep a small store of freeze dried food around, this way don't have to worry about running out of butane for the jet-boil. In my mind if you are trying to have a nice kit for hurricane regions or earthquake kits this is a serious option
ibex-doc
Hi Ibex-doc, Thank you for your support and feedback! I'd have to say that I agreed with you 100%. Our products have become a viable option for for many preppers -- from everyday families who'd just like to be prepared for an emergency situation to the extreme survivalists. This exclusive bundle has everything you'll need to stay powered up, feed and energized (with some coffee) during the next earthquake, hurricane or local power outage. Not to mention, it's great for off-the-grid adventures where you'd like to have your phone on -- for an emergency or to snap an awesome pic -- while only relying on wood/twigs as fuel which you can easily find on the ground all around you. Thanks, BioLiter
I have all these products, except the coffee press.. . They’re heavy, slightly overpriced, but overall very good. This is the new stove, with lots of improvrments over the original. The BaseLantern is a clever concept well executed, and can be combined with several other lights.
This bundle is priced ok, and I highly recommend every product included. And as others have mentioned, the grill attachment works surprisingly well, too!
I got the Biolite 2 grill with the kettle for around 100 from REI this past spring. Not sure why this one is more expensive. It's a nice little grill I recommend buying some wood pellets to burn with it.
No grill option?
I have the original camp stove, along with the kettle and the grill. High quality gear and it gets a mean fire going quick. I've used it car camping (the original is probably on the heavy side for back-packers).
If my original wasn't still going strong I'd be all over this drop.

Fair enough...
I just remembered when I used my 1st gen, I thought it would be extremely useful to have a 2nd one to cook more than one thing... So I bought into this one...
domrinyk
Hmm, that's true. I remember having to cook the chili in the kettle, then switch over to the grill to cook my hotdogs...
