Some opinions, I own one of these, and have given one (of their 'hadrons') as a gift.
It is a very nice item. Few if any folks have a down hat already, and even if you're into the cottage-gear-manufactures for your ultralight hiking kit, this might not be something you've seen before. While probably it doesn't make the most sense on dollars per ounce saved from my pack, I like it a lot.
I think this is the ideal treat or gift for the ultralight hiker, as mostly anything else the recipient will have the rough decision of "is it worth lugging about", while this is lighter than any other warm hat (usually only 33% or so as heavy) and almost certainly not a duplicate of something they would already own. Totally worth the weight to carry along on all but a warm summer hike.
If buying for yourself, the choice comes down to if you can treat yourself. Ultimately it is "just a hat" and there are other ones you probably already have. That said, it is luxuriously warm and lighter than any hat you already own... This manufacture weighs their stuff to the gram and means it.
