I really like the idea of this hat for hammock camping but the price is crazy high. IMO, You may think differently

AntneeI certainly won't tell you how to think...but being a poor single dad and having not as much disposable income as I'd like...I can say, the 4 of these hats I own I feel were excellent purchases for what I spent (all 62ish). I have the 850 fill ones from years past It's your money to spend how you wish, and each person's needs will differ. Me, I like having the perfect hat inside every coat (so I don't have to go searching for one, when I realize I need it)...to me, these were well worth the price.

AntneeAntnee , Our hats have never been on the cheap side but the quality and work that goes into each hat is amazing. They are literally like a little down jacket built specifically for your head ;) I personally feel that for what we put into each hat the price is extremely fair and worth the value. We don't make a big margin on anything here in the shop. We basically make just enough to keep making our unique gear, pay my crew and keep BlackRock Gear going out of my shop here in Seattle. We have no plans to ever move manufacturing out of the USA.
I would guarantee that once you try out a BlackRock hat you'll end up collecting more than one. Just like OOM says, he's now got 4 of them ;) Though I will correct OOM in that we haven't done anything with less than 900 fill since around 2008 which is when I first started up this crazy endeavor!
