Is it just me, or does $60 seem like a lot for a hat? Is it worth it, or would a $20 fleece / wool beanie do the same job?

DevonOutdoorsI would agree, $60 for a hat is not cheap, but if you use the hat every day in the mountains and all over town. If you wear it all the time and simply love it then I think the price is well worth it. I find many of my customers fall into that category. A great product that you love is usually well worth the cost. When you add in the fact it's so light and compressible and has a huge temperature range your head will never let you leave town without it.
We also spend a ridiculous amount of time building each one out. They are a down sweater jacket for your head :) I came up with the idea while on a climbing trip out in City of Rocks Idaho. It was horribly cold and I was really loving on my goosedown gear I owned at the time. I wondered if anyone made a hat from down that didn't also incorporate leather and fur :) And so the BlackRock Beanie was born back in the fall of 2008.
Cut, sewn, flipped and pressed by hand using ultralight nylons we French seam three completed panels together. We fill out "Verts" with goose down, sew in a wicking headband, fluff and finish the hats into what you see here. It's so light it's hard to explain until you hold one in your hand. It squishes down and disappears into your pack or a pocket and it really packs more warmth than your standard fleece beanie.
To me a BlackRock Beanie means I've got a hat so packable I carry it year around. Because it's a four season hat I can use it during a cold winter storm or toss it on in spring around the campfire when it gets chilly. It's my sleeping companion every backcountry night and my eye cover when the sun creeps over the ridge line. Sometimes my head never realizes it went outside ;)

BlackRockI decided to purchase a Cobalt Blue hat. I received the shipping confirmation email that states
"Your package is being shipped via Asendia USA. They partner with USPS and Canada Post to get your package across the border and to your doorstep. The Asendia tracking page will keep track of your order through the entire process, and will also provide you with a USPS/Canada Post tracking number that you can use on usps.com or canadapost.ca once your package has reached the US/Canadian border."
This, however is completely untrue as my tracking info from the Asendia website says "End of electronic tracking" when it left the US and entered Canada. It was also supposed to be delivered 2 days ago, according to the site, but no package has arrived. I feel like I may have been ripped off here and am rather disappointed.

DevonOutdoorsDevon,
Really sorry to hear about that! You should contact MassDrop directly on this shipping issue. For these drops we pack all of the hats up together and send MassDrop one big box. They unpack the box and then send out each individual order to you guys. How they ship gear to a customer is all on their side. So I'm really not sure how they ship from US to Canada. Our big box of gear shipped out on February 13th. Not sure when it hit the East Coast or how long it takes them to package and ship each piece but it has been quite a while.
Again, sorry to hear you still don't have your hat! At least it was on sale ;)

DevonOutdoorsHi @DevonOutdoors - if you have an issue with a missing product, simply report this to our Customer Service by going to your transactions page (from the menu on the top right of this page, next to your photo). They can't help you if you haven't told them about this issue. It is possible the hat is still enroute. Thanks!
