I've been "wet shaving" since the 80's and I have spent beaucoup bucks on expensive shaving creams and pre shaves. Here's what I've found. I use Shikai shower gel to shave while in the shower. It contains NO SOAP and super emollient ingredients and has no harmful or questionable ingredients. About $10 for an 8 oz bottle and the very smoothest shave with no nicks or cuts...EVER. Just the closest most comfortable shave I ever had. You can spend a $100 on shave creams or pre shave gels from France or Germany in beautiful bottles with wistful names and descriptions. The object of wet shaving is to get the very closest shave with NO discomfort. That's what I get. Just my humble opinion. Save your $$$.
