I must say that was a bit disappointed when I got mine. The pictures made the hat look thicker with more loft. The one I got is quite thin even when fully fluffed out. I may be surprised, as I have not had weather cold enough to see what it will do, but I have some experience with down insulation and I can't see this hat being very warm. It is likely pretty good for relatively mild winter days. For that it is a very handy put it in your pocket and take along without bulk hat. We will see. I am curious to know if anyone has had any experience with this hat in cold weather. If so, how cold? Also, for those that got these, did the loft...puffiness, apparent thickness at all resemble the pictures?

MandrakeI tried it in Swedish Lapland. Was about 5 deg. Celsius at day time and about 0 to -4 at night. I almost never took it off, and it was perfect for the whole time.

Awaiting delivery! While the group's order is on its way to our warehouse in New Jersey now, we've just learned that a minor UPS delay has prevented the shipment from arriving as early as originally anticipated. Rest assured, we've prioritized this shipment with our receiving team and will work to have individual packages turned around as quickly as possible once delivered. Based on the tracking provided, the order is scheduled to arrive on 9/30.

Awaiting confirmation! We are still in contact with the vendor and just awaiting updated shipment estimates from them. We have a call scheduled first thing tomorrow morning and should get a bit more visibility in regards to when we can expect these in our warehouse.

Thanks again for joining this drop! We have submitted the group's order with the vendor for the BlackRock Gear Northern Lights 950fp Down Hats and they are working hard to prepare it for shipment.
As soon as the group's order is ready at the vendor's location, they will send the bulk shipment to our warehouse in New Jersey where our warehouse team will break it up into individual orders and ship them. The current estimated ship date from our warehouse is 9/26.

SweatyGuyThe headband material is a wicking material called Dry Line. It will wick away and disperse most of your sweat. It's also got silver ions in the material which keeps it from smelling.

Bought an orange one. This is my 4th brg beanie. These things are great. Layer one with a fleece beanie underneath or double down one under the other. Winter is right around the corner.

HoolioGo with a Large Hoolio. I don't recommend an XL unless you measure out to 24.25" or larger anyway. There is good overlap on sizing and if a size doesn't fit then you can exchange it with us for one that does.

MidnightsonA white hat would be really cool. I've looked for white fabric for the last 8 years to make a hat, but never found anything I like enough. The material needs to be ultralight and soft to be good for a hat. Nobody wants to wear a heavy crunchy rigid piece of outerwear on their head! So we only use the lightest of materials that turn into a beautiful soft hat that molds to your head over a few weeks of wear.
If ever I do find a material that meets my specs for a hat you bet we will be making a white one. As for black I have both Synthetic and 950fp goosedown available over at our site!
