OR you can get Garmin nuvicam lmthd 6-inch navigator for around the same $. Not only would you have a dash cam but a great 6" navigation system to boot.
That Garmin device does not have parking-mode recording by motion or impact detection, which is a feature of advanced premium dashcams. The product you mentioned is essentially a GPS unit with some recording capabilities.
Yes it does have impact detection. Who the heck wants parking recording draining your car battery when you go shopping for a few hours in a busy parking lot?
Does the BlackSys record time/date/location in mapview? Does it record in 1080p at 60 fps? What's so advanced and premium about it? Oh wait, it has the drain your battery feature and the hot climate feature that renders it useless in hot weather States. You do know that most breakins are to steal dash cams and navs, right? Why would you keep it in your car when you're parked?
A: The optional GPS module allows it to track location, and even the standard options display time and date.
B: This camera has either time based OR voltage cuttof to prevent battery drain.
C: Does the Garmin record at 60fps? I couldnt find anything saying it did.
D: The Garmin actually costs more than this and similar offerings like this (Blackvue) and doesnt come with a rear camera. Thats an aditional $170 to match the feature set.
E: My car has a built in navigation system. Hell, Every smartphone made since like 2011 has a built in turn by turn GPS.
