My point exactly! Both will get you from point A to B. A dash cam is something you want to install and forget about until something happens where you need the video. The video on the Mercedes won't be any better than on the Subaru... But it will cost you three times as much!

SuperchargedThe reason you buy a blackview is for the working G sensor, cleaner mount, more elegant hardware, GPS & better parking mode. Also it's more likely to last than a G1W

SuperchargedIt's closer to comparing a Hyundai to a Subaru WRX. One gets you from point a to b, the other is a sports car. Secondly, if you are willing to invest in a dash that means you likely value your car. 5-7% of cist if your investment is nothing.

Insane_DaweThat may be the reason you buy it, but I'm not interested in lots of bells and whistles I simply don't want or need. I went with a mobius that gives me the same quality video in a smaller package that to me at least is more discrete and comes in at a third the price. The bottom line, if you just want a dash cam for the video (which is all I want) then the Blackvue is a bit spendy. If you are after lots of stuff to play around with - I.E. to geek out on for the sake of playing with, then by all means, go for it!

Insane_DaweNot sure what a cist is... But in comparing video capture quality, the Blackvue doesn't provide you with anything over what the Mobius produces. Do a little research. Most reviews will give the nod to the Mobius as to capture quality and a slightly wider coverage angle. And I do value my car, but I fail to see what buying this over my choice gets me other than features I don't need or want... To each his own and caveat emptor as to spending your $. :-)

SuperchargedPersonally, I've always been a person that's trying to save a buck. I currently own two G1W-Cs & a A118. I'm always toying with them and with this purchase, I want something I'm gonna set and forget and be a "nice" product I want to stick in my new car. Mobius would have great video quality if I wanted to make a video but I know I'll be messing with it all the time.
I also sprang on this deal because You can't find a DR650GW + Power Magic Pro anywhere for 300$ and it's been one of the options I was considering for a while. My other option was a Street Guardian in the front and something else in the rear.
