I am so surprised that this kind of camera is too expensive in US market. 'BlackVue' is made in Korea, and this kind of model costs so much lower here in Korea.
For example, DR750 (16G Memory) costs about $320 only. (with 3 year warranty, Power Magic Pro is optional) Moreover, BlackVue is not the most popular model in Korea. There are some far much better maker/models.
For example, one of most popular flagship-grade model is FineVu CR-2000G (16G Memory), which costs only about $330, including FineSafer S (uninterrupted power cable), and 1 year warranty. This model has SONY Exmor CMOS sensor, both channel records 1920x1080@30fps.
Maybe I have to consider to sell those via ebay, hmmm...

gyuhang.choThanks for the information Gyuhang. Are you able to choose the language for the ones sold in Korea? If not I suppose the absurd additional price point for these may be to cover translations.

Weeman0313Weeman0313, I haven't tried myself, but some makers/models have English-firmware which you can change from Korean version.
Qrontech "Lukas" series. http://lukashd.com/index_eng.html * Their web store offers international shipping for LIMITED models.
Pittasoft "BlackVue" series http://www.blackvue.co.kr/en/main/main.asp
Thinkware http://www.thinkware.com/Products * It is also called "iNavi" series only in Korea, because the Thinkware is widely known in Korea for one of the oldest, and popular comsumer GPS navigation system, "iNavi."
However, I can't guarantee you about Thinkware dash cams. Because, it may have slight different hardware setting for exported ones. Which means, no one can be sure about if force re-flashing Korean hardware into English firmware works.
Also, I have no idea about the overseas warranty. I suppose you might have to pay shipping fee.
ps. Maybe you already noticed from the websites, "Car Dash Camera" is called "Car Blackbox" in Korea.

gyuhang.choThanks all the information is incredibly insightful. Are all of these popular brands in Korea? I've been looking to grab a top of the line one since I've had 2 dashcams that died or did not have good enough quality that my insurance would accept.

Weeman0313All three are popular and well-known dash cam maker in Korea. Personally I prefer 'Lukas' among those three, but it totally depends on individual model.
Regardless of what you choose, it will be extremely hard to get it repaired when needed, because of shipping & language issue. I think Lukas will be the best choice if you purchase directly from Korean web store. It looks like they have better customer service to overseas customers.

gyuhang.choThat FineVu is huge though and not particularly good for someone who wants a low key camera. What other options are there for people who want a stealthy unit?
