Don't cheap out on your micro SD cards, these need a "High Endurance Card" everything I have read suggests they will eat standard TLC Nand microSD cards in a few months due to constant write. All Sandisk cards are void except the HE card so don't be using the extreme or ultra's. Transcend also seem to have a good rep for HE cards.

mattconyJust wanted to say thanks for your comment! I had a Sandisk extreme on the way and hadn’t even considered longevity. Now I’ve canceled it and ordered the Transcend. Although I didn’t cheap out on the Sandisk, it’s still focused on speed over reliability, so the equivalent amount of money I was spending was ill placed.

cowboybear95If you want a reliable card, the high endurance versions (MLC NAND) don’t come in 128 GB generally. I ordered the Transcend 64 GB, as it has a 12000 hour rating and is meant for continuous use in surveillance equipment.
Silicon Power is another manufacturer that sells MLC high endurance cards, again limited to 64 GB.
Sandisk also sells high endurance cards, although they are not rated as long (10000 hours), and I can’t find what NAND they use, though it is probably the inferior TLC.
Blackvue themselves are the only ones with an MLC 128 GB card and it’s about half of what you paid for the camera at $130. Unfortunately they only have a 6 month warranty (at $130!?!? WTF Blackvue?).

mattconyI went with the Samsung Pro Endurance card, 128gb, 5 year warranty, "Designed specifically for video monitoring cameras". It has very similar warranty to other samsung sdcards, except it says it can handle brief water damage. Not sure if that's something to brag about or not..
